Born in Mississauga Ontario, Dr Pannu began his medical journey at McMaster University in the Life Sciences program, before attending Windsor University School of Medicine. Following the completion of his Medical Degree, Dr. Pannu obtained a diploma in Experimental Medicine from McGill University. In 2018, Dr. Pannu started his General Practice residency training in the Oxford deanery in the U.K.

Dr Pannu’s interest in lifestyle medicine began during his residency training after a teaching session by a board-certified lifestyle medicine physician on the prevention and reversal of chronic diseases by implementing the 6 pillars of lifestyle medicine. His passion grew as he began to apply these pillars and saw positive improvements in the physical and mental health of his patients. This motivated Dr. Pannu to continue advocating lifestyle medicine in the South Asian community of West London U.K., with great success. Dr. Pannu brings this same passion to Brampton, where he will continue his interest in lifestyle medicine in the prevention of chronic diseases as a family physician.

Outside of practice, Dr Pannu can be found playing flag football, basketball and soccer. He also enjoys the outdoors with his family.

Fear is a natural emotion we experience in our lifetime. Fear has good and bad sides. It helps us protect ourselves from harm or danger. But it can sometimes take the best of us. It is important to understand our fears to make wise decisions.

The common causes of fear may be due to past traumatic experiences, negative self-talk, and a lack of knowledge or understanding of a particular situation.

Understanding the root cause of our fears can help us control them, and not control ourselves. Some of the techniques to overcome fear are having a positive attitude, acknowledging your fears, and learning the skill to overcome them.

She⁣ is not only an RD but an athlete, she loves Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) and trail running. She’s also an animal and nature lover.
