Our Story
Broadway H**p Company started with Farmer Ryan Patterson researching the effects of h**p-derived products on Parkinson’s disease to help his father who was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2016. Ryan started growing h**p in one of his greenhouses under the NC Industrial H**p Commission license in the Spring of 2017.
In Fall of 2017, he was approached by a friend suffering from cancer with the idea to make products from the h**p Ryan was growing. In April 2018 Broadway H**p began shipping products. Sadly, h**p came too late to help with his friend’s cancer.
Mike Harrelson was brought in at the beginning to consult with outfitting the labs and work with local officials to bring us up to code and compliance. Mike sold his last business in 2018 with the intent to semi-retire, when he saw what Broadway H**p company was wanting to do he stated his interest in being a part of this operation. Broadway H**p contracted with Mike to fill the role of Operations Director. Mike is very passionate about natural healing and plant-based products and has built several successful businesses. Mike built our kief extraction machine as well as several pieces of equipment we use to make our products as pure as possible.
Paul Thomas was brought in as a third party comptroller in 2018. Paul is now an integral part of our day to day operations, selling his company to join our team full time in January 2020. He brings a passion for wanting to bring to the market the best product possible. Paul assists with quality control, production, and sales in addition to his role as a comptroller.
