Medical Assistant Position
Exceptional Primary and Preventive Healthcare is seeking applicants for a part time medical assistant position based in Silver Spring, MD. The medical assistant will be working alongside the primary care provider and the office manager.
Responsibilities:
● Receive phone calls, schedule appointments, check-in patients, obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed.
● Assist with referral processing
● Prepare patients for examination, take vitals, and record patients' health history
● Set-up EKG machines, administer injections and medications, and perform routine specimen collection and tests
● Prepare equipment and examination rooms
● Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies
● Clean/disinfect all lab instruments after patient use
● Maintain up to date knowledge and compliance with HIPAA regulations and client’s privacy rights
● Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
● Medical Assistant certification from accredited institution
● 0-2 years of relevant experience (including phlebotomy)
● Fluent in Spanish (preferred)
● Previous experience in EMR software (preferred)
