About Dr. Wiles
Dr. Michael Wiles was born and raised in Illinois. At 14 he moved to Ohio for high school and college, then onto Iowa for medical school, Michigan for residency and now Chattanooga, TN. Dr. Wiles has made his new home here in Chattanooga for the past 13 + years and has enjoyed every minute of it.
Dr. Wiles attended Ohio State University (OSU), following in his father’s footsteps. The day after his transcripts were sent to OSU, his parents decided to move to Orlando, Florida, but they have since moved back to Tennessee to be closer to family. Dr. Wiles attended Des Moines University (DMU) in Iowa for his podiatric studies because it reminded him of his childhood home in Illinois.
Dr. Wiles graduated from DMU with a doctorate in Podiatric Medicine in 2003. After his education, he continued into residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Flint, Michigan until 2006. There he received advanced training in foot and ankle surgery from some of the top doctors in Michigan. It was through Genesys that he had the opportunity to travel all over the state, getting new tips and techniques from some of the finest doctors podiatry has to offer. Dr. Wiles is trained in foot trauma and flat foot reconstruction, arthroscopic surgery, foot and ankle deformities, and general podiatric surgical procedures. Dr. Wiles also had the opportunity to receive training in ankle and leg orthopedic surgery and trauma call during his residency training.
Dr. Wiles is excited to begin his NEW and IMPROVED practice in the Chattanooga/North Georgia area and loves having the opportunity to help each patient that he encounters. His hobbies include wood-working, swimming, and photography to name a few. Even though Dr. Wiles is known to have cold hands from time to time, it is quickly apparent that he has a warm heart.
