As the days get shorter, remember that many Alaskans struggle to maintain adequate Vitamin D levels—an essential nutrient for strong bones, a healthy immune system, and balanced moods. Low Vitamin D can lead to fatigue, frequent colds, mood changes, and weaker bones over time.

Boost your Vitamin D by:
🐟 Enjoying local salmon
🌞 Soaking up sunlight whenever possible
💊 Talking to your provider about testing and supplements

Curious about your Vitamin D levels? Take advantage of the greatly reduced prices at the Rotary Health Fair's annual low-cost blood tests this October!

Low Cost Blood Tests still offered as part of annual Rotary Health Fair

Low Cost Blood Tests offered as part of annual Rotary Health Fair

The 37th annual Rotary Health Fair, sponsored by Homer Kachemak Bay Rotary Club in cooperation with South Peninsula Hospital, will be a combination of in-person and virtual offerings in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The very popular low-cost health screening blood tests will be offered by appointment Monday through Friday, 7:30am-10:30am from October 12-November 6. Appointments and payments must be made on line in advance. Walk-in and same day appointments are not offered this year due to necessary space restrictions for maintaining physical distancing. Masks will be required, as will covid-19 screening questions.

Low-cost comprehensive blood analysis is available for only $55, the same price as last year and at a sizeable discount from the average cost of a comparable test. In addition to the basic panel, additional tests are available for purchase at special health fair rates, including prostate, thyroid, vitamin D, hemoglobin a1c, cardiac CRP, thyroid free T4, testosterone and hepatitis C.
