You might be asking wondering Why does a chemical free lifestyle matter so much to me, and why do you matter so much to me? Because I thought everything on that was sold on store shelves was safe and somebody out there was looking out for my best interest, until I started to do my own research. I have seen the other end of a chemical filled lifestyle and I want everyone to know what they are putti
ng in and on their bodies. The average woman applied 300 chemicals to her body every single day and 80 of them are before breakfast. The top 10 most dangerous chemicals in our home include air fresheners, in plug ins and candles. Second on the list is chemical cleaning supplies like hard surface cleaners, window cleaner, drain and oven cleaners, and furniture polish, dishwasher soap and dish soap, beauty supplies and personal care products like hair spray, gel, shampoo and deodorant. But why and I so passionate about getting rid of chemicals, well let me take a minute share my story with you. I grew up with a syndrome which I later got diagnosed with POTS or dysautonomia. This means that when I stand up I get light headed because my blood vessels in my legs don’t constrict so the blood rushes to my feet instead of my head. Every time I stood up I would get about two steps before the black splotches started to work their way into my vision, my ears would start to get muffled and I became weak. I thought this was normal because everyone gets lightheaded when they stand up too fast, but mine happened every time. My heart would also feel like it would skip beats and then race to catch up. I passed out a few times as a kid and as I grew taller and got older it got worse. I just learned to stand up slower and when the black dots started to crowd my vision, I would brace myself against something or just sit back down. I thought I was healthy, I worked out at the gym a few times a week, and I was thin and seemingly in shape, so I thought I was fine, but I wasn’t. I was feeling sluggish and tired all the time, I had brain fog and just didn’t feel right. The last time I passed out it was very scary because when I woke up I couldn’t remember who I was or what happened for a few seconds before my brain kicked back in. I had blacked out and knocked everything off the counter and woke up face down in the tub. I could’ve easily hit my head, but luckily I hit my hip instead. I hit so hard that I had a bruise on my hip for days with the indent of the grout line from the tile. This is when my husband demanded I go get things checked out. After many trips to the neurologist and the cardiologist, EKGs, cat scans, and stress tests I still had no answers. I felt out of place in the doctor’s office I was young and “fit” I didn’t belong there. They kept telling me they couldn’t figure out what was wrong, but came up with a diagnosis and told me my only solution would be to take a pill every day for the rest of my life and there would be no guarantee that it would completely solve the symptoms and I probably wouldn’t be able to have the active lifestyle I had been having. I started doing my own research and then I changed my lifestyle and started reading labels and caring about what I was putting on and in my body. Turns out I was causing all of my symptoms and as soon as I stopped, my whole life changed. I cut sugar and processed foods and meat completely from my diet, and went whole foods plant based, and I have never looked back. I cut diary from my diet 2 years later in addition and I am proud to say that no longer get lightheaded and I am brain fog free. No more standing up slowly, worried that I might pass out in public, and no more racing heart! It took 3 days to get over my sugar addiction but after that first week I could see a noticeable difference in how I felt every day and the amount of energy I had. This experience made me be so careful with how I ate, so I got really good at reading labels and flipping things over and making sure they didn’t have ingredients I didn’t want in my diet. It completely changed the way I looked at food and the way I took care of myself and my body. That is when I started on my oils journey. After I started eliminating these things from my diet I started thinking, my goodness, if sugar, and meat and cheese could affect my body that much; we are talking a steak and some ice cream, what about the chemicals I know are in my house, what about my bright blue dish soap, and my laundry soap and dryer sheets? What about the sprays I spray on my cutting board because I wanted to disinfect it, and 3 days later I can still smell the chemicals? And if I grab that bottle and read the label it says poison do not consume and then I dice my fresh strawberries and eat them right off the tray. What about all of those things? That is what lead me to my quest for clean living, and when I learned about the benefits of essential oils I wanted them in my house, but I wanted to make sure I bought my oils from the best company, so I started doing some more research and found Young Living hands down is the best in the world. I grabbed a starter kit and as I ran out of a toxic product I would replace it with a healthier option. It was such a relief to not have to look up every product while shopping to see if it contained toxic ingredients. I did my research and trust the source so I don't have to look up each product anymore. Once I was using Young Living oils and products I couldn't stop talking about them and how much better we felt so I wanted to shout it from the roof tops. Oils helped Korbin sleep through the night for the first time, they helped support his achy ears that it seemed he was getting every time we went for a well checkup, and keeping our family above the wellness line. We know how much Young Living products have changed our lives so we want everyone to experience them in their lives too, and I want to help you with that journey
