I love the ocean and I wish I have the house on the beach ! I have to go at least once a month to the beach:) luckily we live only a few hours away !😊 Spending time by the ocean is pretty good for you overall wellbeing.
There is some data analysis that says people who live by the coast report better physical and mental health than those who do not.
The blue color of the ocean accompanied with the smell of the ocean breeze and the noises activates our parasympathetic nervous system which is responsible for slowing us down and allowing us to relax and feel more engaged!❤

👐Do you know what is manual lymphatic drainage ?

👉It is a form of very gentle massage that increases the overall flow of lymphatic fluid through the lymph vessels and nodes and ultimately back to the blood system.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage can benefit people with fibromyalgia, cellulite, migraine headaches, chronic venous insufficiency and vericosities, post-traumatic, and post-surgery swelling

Studies have shown when MLD is applied there is a significant reduction in fluid and improvement in the skin appearance.

Some of the effects of MLD are removal of waste products of cell metabolism, improves the reabsorption and promotes drainage of fluid accumulated in the body.

🤔Why do you need to keep your Lymphatic System healthy ?

Lymphatic System as opposed to circulatory system is not a closed system.

It is a network of tissues and organs that circulates protein rich fluid (called lymph) throughout your body.

Lymphatic system defends your body against disease. It circulates protein rich fluid throughout your body, clearing it of waste and infection. The lymph is filtered out by white blood cells at lymph nodes which are spread throughout your body.

Another super important function of the lymphatic system is removal of excess fluid from the tissues and returning it back to the bloodstream.
Our body could not afford to lose that much water daily!

👐To turn the glass bottle of the delicious sparkling apple cider drink into DIY 5% solution of essential oils blend!

👉I used chamomile, lavender, frankincense and patchouli essential oil and the jojoba oil as the carrier. The carrier substance better facilities the absorption of the oil by the body.

☝️The essential oils needs to be kept in a dark, cool place away from the direct sunlight. It is highly recommended to store them in a colored glass container.

👉Dry brushing involves daily body massage with a natural bristle dry brush to encourage lymphatic drainage, and increase blood circulation.

Dry brushing is wonderful way to exfoliate dry winter skin! Dry brushing can also leave you feeling energized afterward as its stimulates your nervous system, so it’s a good idea to don’t brush your skin at night 😉

The tip is to brush your skin before your shower in the morning, when your skin is dry. Then just take a shower to wash off any dead skin cells. And don’t forget to apply lotion to put the moisture back into your skin!

☝️It is very important to do not brush too much as you can break the integrity of the skin and cause irritation!

The general rule is to brush your skin in the direction that follows the pathway of your lymphatic system.

Dry skin brushing is very valuable for clients after plastic surgeries which can aim in recovery after abdominoplasty and helps reduce the swelling😊

Healthy sleep habits can make a huge difference in a quality of our life!

For thousands of years we lived synchronized with the natural rhythm of light and dark cycles of day and night. Thus, we need to respect our natural circadian rhythm.

Many of the hormones in our body are produced in tune with the cycle of the sun. Stress activating hormones are produced as the sun rises and peak around mid-morning. As the day goes on, the levels of stress hormones decrease. As the sun goes down, our body begins to produce growth and repair hormones. Our bodies are designed to wind down from sunset until about 10pm, when sleep and physical repair should begin.

However, chronic long-term circadian stress can lead to chronic fatigue, suppressed immunity and illness.

Brightly lit house, late night watching TV, and late working until the evening are keeping stress hormone levels high past sundown making it harder to fall asleep. For our physiological system light equals sunshine, and sunshine equals stress hormone (cortisol) release and daytime activities.

A couple of tips to optimize your sleep and wake cycle:
1. Stick to the same bedtime and wake up time routine
2. Minimize your exposure to bright lights, in particular fluorescent lights, for at least 2 hours before going to bed
3. Set aside your phone and laptop. Avoid any activities that wind you up with stress, anxiety or excitement. All of these factors can make it hard to fall asleep, get deep sleep, or remain asleep.
4. Sleep in a room that is completely dark. Also, your bedroom should be cool, and free from noises
5. Avoid consumption of stimulants such as caffeine, ni****ne and sugar after lunch
Exercise regularly. Physical activity and exercise during the day improves the sleep quality and sleep duration.

Regular massage sessions have been found to decrease depression and and anxiety levels, and improve sleep quality.

Are you already using essential oils in your daily living ? Or maybe you already have your favorite essential oil?

The word "aromatherapy" means therapy through aroma or scent. It uses pure essential oils, extracted from the plant kingdom, from flowers, trees, herbs, vegetables, or spices. Aromatherapy treats mind and body and it's part of so- called alternative therapies that embrace holistic approach to health.

They focus on the well-being of the individual as a whole, including emotional and mental state.

It is the natural way to care for our health.

Here are some ways to use essential oils:
- therapeutic massage
- body oils
- aromatic bathing
- essential oil diffusers
- hot and cold compresses

Meet Ola!

Hi Everyone ! My name is Ola Zawora. I was born and raised in Poland but currently live in Charlotte, North Carolina. I moved to the United States in May of 2015, where I first lived in Great Falls, Montana. After a couple of freezing winters, I moved with my husband and two goofy Irish Setters to Charlotte. We could not pick a better place to live and thrive! I earned my master’s degree in Physical Therapy and Nutritional Counseling in Poland. I am also a certified Health Coach and received my massage education from the NC School of Advanced Bodywork. I have a huge passion for healthy living and enjoy encouraging and empowering others to commit to long-term health and wellness goals. I believe in the benefits of massage therapy and its relaxing qualities to reduce stress. We are now starting to understand how greatly stress negatively impacts our lives, health, well-being and quality of life, and it is has shown that massage therapy can have a positive influence with the issue of stress and improving quality of life. I also believe that it is a natural way to stay healthy and pain-free. Clinical massage combined with structural bodywork can be beneficial in reducing chronic and excessive muscle tension. Many of the problems I see in my practice are caused by chronically contracted muscles, and by combining massage and bodywork, I can help relax chronically contracted muscles.I also believe in a compassionate and healing touch.

I love cooking, trying out new healthy recipes, hiking with my doggies, camping, and reading books.
