This has been a difficult year for so many. Yet even in these difficult times people are rejoicing in new lives. Babies are a miracle but in these scary times parents are nervous to reach out for help with breastfeeding. They want to avoid the doctor's office as much as possible. This is where a lactation consultant comes in. I am able to do home visits or for some things televisits. If you or a loved one are expecting a baby this holiday season please consider giving them a gift certificate for lactation visits. It is a gift that can literally give the new baby a gift for life. The benefits of breastfeeding last a lifetime.

In this time of crisis it is more important than ever that new mothers get all the help they can to establish breastfeeding. There are so many economic and social benefits to breastfeeding. The is no cost, there is no running to the store which reduces your risk of contracting CoVid-19. The required isolation allows mothers to bond with their babies without the rush of outside life. Of course breastfeeding is a learned art and this is where lactation consultants come in. Many of us are offering tele health visits for those mothers in need of extra assistance. A home visit may also be possible.
