Today’s breakfast is fresh organic mangoes, handpicked right here on the compound.
In addition to being absolutely delicious, mangoes also have a unique nutrient profile making them a healing superfood.
It is one of very few fruits that contains a compound called mangiferin which decreases inflammation in the heart and blood vessels.
It aids digestion and gut health due to its high fiber content.

Stress LITERALLY kills.
When we don’t manage our stresses properly, the adrenal glands maintains a sustained production of the stress hormone cortisol. This cortisol over time affects gene expression which causes dis-ease in the body. The mutates gene can also be passed down.
Stress affects all body organs and is associated with many illnesses. Becoming aware of this and learning ways to manage stress will go a long way to help nourish the body, mind and spirit.

As the colder months are approaching, they are a great spice to add to your meals to warm you up.
Avoid them if they irritate your tummy or if you have ulcers or gastritis.

My current read!
This book is a must read for everyone especially if you live in westernized cultures.
We are all addicted to something that holds us back from our dreams and life’s purpose and this book breaks down how such distractions affect the brain and keep us in a cycle of dependency.
This book also discusses some ways to break out of the cycle and harness dopamine naturally so we don’t need outside agents to make us feel good.
I will like to hear your thoughts if you have read this book.

Cooking with herbs are a great way to add life and flavor to your meals. They accentuate the wonderful tastes of all the other ingredients and add vitality to every bite. They are also a great way to add health value to your meals.
Many of the herbs have anti-inflammatory properties due to their high content of aromatic agents but these 5 are my favorite because they are easier to include in most meals.
Use them fresh or dried!

Hearty and delicious farro porridge for breakfast the other day.
A friend introduced me to this healthy, nutritious ancient grain and I have been having fun creating delicious new recipes with it.
It is packed full of fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals making it a complete meal on it’s own. It notably has high amounts of Zinc, magnesium, B3 and antioxidants compared to other grains in it’s family.
If you are tired of oatmeal, this is a great alternative!
Here are the ingredients I used for this porridge:
1/4 cup Farro grain
1/2 cup Almond milk
Pinch of cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
3 drops of vanilla extract
Toped with raisins and pumpkin seeds
Can eat by itself sweetened naturally with fruits or sweeteners like monk fruit and stevia.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, autumn is associated with the Metal element and as we see around us, all natural things approach their harvest and completion. Leaves turn vibrant colors, signifying a time where all things begin to conserve and store themselves inside for nourishment.
As evident in nature, it is also true in us. A kind of harvesting and transition happens within us all, harvesting of life experiences and letting go of that which no longer serves us.
This is necessary for spiritual growth and physical wellbeing.
Take advantage of the gift this season offers and begin to let go.
