Most of us are trained to fix problems exactly where they show up.

But the “obvious” problem is rarely the root cause.

- A team’s burnout might not be from overwork → it could be from unclear priorities or constant context-switching that drains focus.
- A project bottleneck might not be because “Bob’s behind again” → it might be that the approval process is slow or the task depends on missing resources.
- A tense meeting might not be about the topic → it could stem from unresolved conflict or a lack of trust that’s been building for months.

On a recent trip to Banff, I stood in front of a rushing waterfall. It was powerful, impossible to ignore—just like a workplace crisis, a flare-up of pain, or a team conflict. But I realized… that waterfall wasn’t the beginning. Its story started far upstream, in snowmelt, rainfall, and unseen streams feeding the flow.

We see the same thing in the body every day at Vibrant Yoga.

Neck or low back pain is rarely just a “neck” or “low back” problem. Often, the root cause lives elsewhere—like a stiff thoracic spine that forces surrounding areas to overcompensate. Over time, this strain creates new issues far from the source.

That’s why we don’t just focus on the spot that hurts.

We look at the whole system and the whole person, because lasting change starts where the real cause lives, not where the symptoms show up.

We bring that same approach to the workplace. Through yoga to restore movement, meditation to sharpen focus, and chair massage to release tension, we help your team move better, feel better, and work better.

Are you feeling ground down by pressure … at work, in your family, with your health?

What if that pressure is shaping something beautiful?

I recently visited Moraine Lake in Canada and learned that it gets its unreal blue color from “rock flour”, tiny particles made by glaciers slowly grinding down rock over time. The grit is what makes the beautiful magic.

Rare beauty often comes from the messy, gritty work that most people never see.

So if things feel heavy or slow right now… maybe you’re not breaking down.

Maybe you’re becoming something breathtaking.

“You are allowed to enjoy living in a body.”

That’s the invitation our instructor Hannah brought to Call for Culture’s Culture Impact Lab this past May - and what a session it was!

In the middle of the conference, she led a grounding, joyful session that reminded us:

Wellness doesn't have to be complicated. You don’t need a yoga mat or to be in the “right” clothes. And there doesn’t need to be a “perfect time” to take care of ourselves.

Thank you to Call for Culture for creating space for conversations and practices that restore us. And thank you to Hannah, for showing us how simple & fun it can be to return to ourselves. 💜

Just got back from vacation.

Didn’t check email or do any work.

Didn’t wake up in the middle of the night wondering “Did that get done?”

First time in 10+ years.

Because now in I have a team I completely trust.

Building a business from the ground up meant that for years, everything felt like it lived or died with me. And while that built resilience, it also built habits of control that were hard to break.

But this time, I stepped away and the business kept running beautifully.

Because now, I have a team that cares, creates, and carries the mission forward, even without me in the room.

That trust is everything.

And so is the freedom it creates

To every business owner still in the “if I don’t do it, it won’t get done” phase — keep building. Keep delegating. Keep hiring people who care as much as you do.

One day you’ll realize you can step away…

…and the business will survive & thrive without you.

That’s freedom.

Auto-filtering my inbox has been a game changer.

I set up a filter so that all the “interesting-to-read-but-not-urgent-or-important” emails skip my inbox entirely and land in a folder called “When I Have Time.”

Spoiler alert: I rarely have time. That folder now has 100+ emails in it… and weirdly, that makes me smile.

Because I used to treat every message like it needed a response now. I’d lose momentum, get sidetracked, and constantly feel behind.

Now, those low-priority-but-nice-to-read messages don’t get to steal my focus.

They wait their turn.

This tells me I’m living a full life on my terms, not dictated by the pace or priorities of others.

I’d rather be on the mountaintop than clearing out newsletters anyway 😜

This small system shift created an immediate sense of clarity and calm. My inbox feels more spacious. My brain feels less scrambled.

I still read those emails - but only when I choose to, not when they demand my attention.⁠

Highly recommend giving this a try if your inbox feels overwhelming.

Boundaries, even with email, are a form of self-care.

Did you know August is National Wellness Month?

For me, and at Vibrant Yoga, this month is a reminder that:

- You don’t have to wait for a breakdown to make well-being a priority.
- You can choose rest before your body forces it.
- You can create space to breathe before things fall apart.

It’s an ongoing journey that, of course, can’t start and finish inside of August alone. But, the best time to take action on your health was yesterday & the second best time is today.

And that’s what we want to make this month is about at Vibrant: helping you take at least one step toward a healthier more regulated you.

Ready for a small step you can implement today?

Take one deep, intentional breath before every task switch this week.

Just one. Eyes closed. Inhale clarity. Exhale pressure. Then move forward.

Then observe how you feel.

Let this month be your reminder that you are worthy of feeling well. Right now. Not “when things calm down.”

Something really special happened last week. ❤️

We recently connected with Andrew from Seattle, and were discussing how he was hoping to propose to his partner, Megan, while they were visiting Chicago - her hometown.

So we set up a couple’s yoga session by the lake.

When they arrived, our instructor Hannah casually mentioned that the other couple had canceled, so it would just be a private session.

About ten minutes in, the flow brought Andrew into a pose that naturally landed him on one knee.

It was sweet, simple, and completely perfect.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do, and that yoga isn't just about movement - it’s about connection, presence, and creating memories that last.

What if self-care wasn’t something we had to add to our day, but simply how we lived?

Today is International Self-Care Day, and it’s a reminder that taking care of ourselves daily isn’t selfish - it’s how we stay resilient, grounded, and available for the people and work that matter most.

And the most impactful self-care moments aren’t often the monumental shifts, rather: A deep breath before answering a stressful email, 5 minutes of silence and reflection, a favorite playlist on the drive home, walking barefoot in the grass after a long call, the list goes on.
