A message to our current OT students: Even from afar “we got your back” and will continue to give you what you need and deserve, but here is an insider look behind the scenes of an OT Program during COVID -19.

For about 10 days we have been transitioning to fully implemented online delivery. I have seen creative thinking, determination and hard work at levels that amaze me. I have seen faculty and staff working with students to make the best of this unbelievable situation. I have heard Zoom sessions running, and running well. I have seen collaboration, kindness, frustration, worry, friendship. Never missing a beat, the faculty and staff continued planning for the next semester(s) and for our new students who start this summer.

On Monday we begin a new level of occupational disruption and deprivation (the “stuff” we teach all of the time) as we move to a remote work environment. My work family packed up their desks, scrubbed down work surfaces, loaded boxes of books, computers and monitors into their cars and said good bye to each other. They miss the students and they will miss each other... and I will miss all of them.

Students, rock out the semester and continue to make us proud.
We have the best, I have the best and I already miss all of you.

I hope to see you (in person) again soon.❤️

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Calling all University of Findlay OT Alumni with at least one-year experience.
As you know the corona virus/COVID-19 is having a widespread impact on schools K-12 having extended breaks, sporting events cancelled or closed to the public, and many universities going to alternate learning formats for students.
Fieldwork is also impacted. We have several students who have had their last level II cancelled that is scheduled for April 6- June 26, 2020.
Currently we need 4 placements and are open to any setting/population.
Because students have already made housing arrangements we are hoping for placements in the Northeast Ohio region as well as Columbus, but we are open to anywhere in the state of Ohio.
Please consider assisting us in providing opportunities for these students to finish their education on time. As advocates for our profession and UF alumni our students need your help.
