The biggest communication and messaging mistake I see founders make?

Relying too heavily on product features to sell and convince people to try and buy, instead of sharing their leadership position, and how they are THE solution to their target audience’s needs and challenges.

Today, I led a hands-on workshop guiding founders in shifting how they speak to, and connect with, their target audience:

As a human talking face to face with a friend, with empathy, with values, with storytelling, and with specificity.

We dove into what makes conversations resonant and what inspires people to take action!

One founder realized that product features were her comfort zone - no wonder her audience didn’t understand, or feel, the value she was really providing.

Language isn’t just about the words you use—it’s also about leading with the energy of confidence vs. convincing💥

It’s about serving vs. selling.

To build a memorable brand, you must be in conversation authentically, clearly and consistently with your target audience over time.

One of my favorite parts of Winners Circle: Hearing lessons and perspectives from world class athletes and CEOs.

The conversations, reflective shares and valuable reminders all inspire and motivate me to be a better person, partner, leader and CEO.

The conversations today that resonated with me the most were around preparedness, and the importance of mindset and the choices we make every day, in between, leading up to and after what we perceive to be the “big important moments” in our lives.

As Agassi so eloquently shared - “The match is won or lost long before you step onto the court”.

And as Chris Weber stated “Only listen and take feedback from those who are also in the arena”.
