It's National CRNA Week! 🎉 Help us recognize our Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Eli Vincent and Brett Bruna.

CRNAs are highly trained anesthesia professionals. In many rural areas, CRNAs provide more than 80% of all anesthesia care, helping ensure timely procedures, safe labor and delivery services, and access to essential pain management close to home.

🌟 Employee Spotlight on Melissa Spellman! 🌟

Melissa's journey with us began all the way back in 1996, when she joined Clay Center Family Physicians at just 15 years old as an after‑school medical records helper.

Since then, Melissa has worked nearly every front‑end role, supported multiple locations, helped lead major transitions, and now serves as our Rural Health Clinic Director. Under her leadership, our clinics have continued to grow and expand services across the region.

Key milestones during her tenure include:
• Clyde Clinic completed (Feb 2020)
• Riley Clinic opened (Sept 2020)
• Clay Center Remodel and Cerner Implementation Team (2021)
• Glasco Clinic opened (Nov 2021)
• Clay Center Expanded specialty service collaboration and Behavioral Health services (2025)

Melissa and her husband Dustin will celebrate 22 years of marriage on May 1, and they’re preparing for their next chapter as empty nesters. Their son Colton is a sophomore at K‑State, and their daughter Emma plans to attend Fort Hays State University.

When she steps away from clinic leadership, Melissa loves gardening, being outdoors, attending concerts with her daughter, and reading.
