The Lew & Betty Somers Scholarship is awarded annually to Harmac employee family members in order to make their paths to university degrees more manageable. Recently, this year's recipients among our Ireland team shared their appreciation for how this award has helped them pursue their academic and career dreams.

Our Buffalo team was thrilled to participate in yesterday's United Way of Buffalo & Erie County's 2025 Day of Caring -- an annual, countywide volunteer initiative which we've supported for years. This year we were assigned to EPIC - Every Person Influences Children, to assist with some impactful donor communications. We're happy to have helped -- and we congratulate all those businesses which also shared their employee talents this week in support of dozens of other deserving United Way organizations.

Every year our Tijuana team, in coordination with Instituto Politécnico Nacional, participates in an 11 km fun race which raises money to support the school's educational equipment and related expenses. This year 10 Harmac employees crossed the finish line. We're proud of all our runners who gave us their best efforts -- and we thank the IPN for being a great partner for us and the community in developing skilled students for our industry!

Mother's Day is an especially important holiday within our Tijuana team's culture. Thus, we host an annual celebration which honors those colleagues who also hold the title of "mother." Because, as you'll see on a few of their shirts, "El Amor De Madre Es Infinito!" (The Love of a Mother is Infinite!)

We were honored that Child and Family Services included our own Melissa Stephan, Human Resource Manager at our Buffalo headquarters, to join today's panel discussion, "How the Workplace has Evolved: 5 Years Post-Covid." The program -- a webinar, fittingly -- featured a panel of pros who discussed how workplaces have transformed and what the future might look like for workplace norms and employee relations.

Together, they discussed the lasting effects of the pandemic on employee well-being, work culture and organizational practices, and provided valuable insights into how leaders have navigated this period. From hybrid work models and mental health initiatives to evolving employee expectations and workplace policies, they offered practical lessons learned in our post-pandemic world.

Led by Director Megan Andrews, Melissa was joined by Heather Gallagher, Senior Director, Compensation, Benefits and HRIS at ECMC, and Collin Gehl, Chief Human Resources Officer at Say Yes Buffalo.

One way we do this is by awarding summer camp scholarships to employees' children or grandchildren, to boost their educational and social development. This year's recipients include Eric Merriman (at left), whose daughter will attend camp at downtown Buffalo's Explore & More - The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children's Museum; and Mike Fragale, whose two grandchildren will go to summer camp at the Buffalo Museum of Science and Explore & More - The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children's Museum.
