🦁🐒 A Sight to Remember! 👁️

On this day in 2017, a golden lion tamarin named Ana at the Akron Zoo made headlines when Dr. William Wiley performed cataract surgery on her, making her one of the first of her species to receive this life-changing procedure. 💛🌿

Once struggling to see, this vibrant little monkey regained her sight thanks to the Zoo's medical team, and Dr. Wiley and his talented group of nurses and assistants. The surgery not only improved her quality of life, but also helped her reconnect with her brother, Rio- playing, climbing, and grooming with ease again. 🧼🏝️🐾

A small but mighty reminder of how compassion and innovation can make all the difference--even for the tiniest eyes in the rainforest. 👀💚
