With its new extended hours, Oaklawn Pharmacy is now the only pharmacy in Marshall open on Sundays.

Tara Hanson, an Oaklawn Pharmacist, explains, “It (extended hours) will help those going to express care or emergency department after normal office hours to still be able to get their medications without having to drive out of town. Before this expansion there was no pharmacy open in Marshall on Sundays, so we saw need for our community.”

Volunteer Spotlight: Nancy Tackett

Nancy Tackett, a dedicated member of our Gift Shop Guild, plays an important role as one of the gift shop purchasers, helping ensure the shop is always stocked with just the right items for our patients, visitors, and staff. She also generously assists with fundraising efforts, helping support important programs and services throughout the hospital.

Nancy moved to Marshall, MI when she was 10 years old and has been part of the community for many years. She joined the Oaklawn Auxiliary 14 years ago with a heartfelt goal: to support the hospital, care for its patients, and make our community a better place.

We are so grateful for Nancy’s continued dedication, generosity, and service to Oaklawn and the community we serve. Thank you, Nancy, for all that you do!

Oaklawn’s 36th Annual Benefit Auction is Friday, March 13, with a superstitious “Friday the 13th” theme! 🍀

This year, we are raising funds for the recently reopened Oncology and Hematology Department. Every day, courageous patients and their families face diagnoses that require far more than luck — they rely on expert care, steady hands, and unwavering support. Our clinic provides a welcoming, trusted environment for the treatment of cancer and other blood-related disorders. Together, we hope to make this year’s auction the most successful yet.

Oaklawn Development Manager Cindy Lake, RN Alicia Lang, and Dr. Timothy Cox recently showcased auction items inside a treatment room at the Oncology & Hematology Clinic - a reminder that every bid directly supports local cancer patients. 💙

Update on Oaklawn Medical Group – Tekonsha Office

Restoration efforts are actively underway. We expect that the soonest the Tekonsha office will reopen is Monday, 3/16.

We truly appreciate your continued patience and understanding as we work to safely and fully restore the office. We will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.

Important Notice!

Our Oaklawn Medical Group – Tekonsha office experienced unexpected flooding over the weekend due to a burst water pipe. Unfortunately, this has caused damage throughout the office, and all appointments scheduled for today have been canceled.

Our team is actively assessing the situation and reassigning providers to offices in the Wright Medical Building in Marshall, where patients will be seen until further notice. We will do our best to accommodate patients during this transition.

Patients may still call the Tekonsha office at 517-767-4038 with questions, as the phone line is being rerouted, though response times may be slower than usual.

We appreciate your patience and understanding and will share additional updates as they become available.

When asked what she would tell someone beginning cancer treatment at Oaklawn, Ms. Brenda shared:

"I would definitely encourage them to come here. It's quiet, it's not loud, and it's professional. (You) can feel that it's a safe environment. Staff, besides being friendly, are very knowledgeable. If you have any questions, if you don't know the answer, they're going to get you the answer. I just encourage it, it's safe, and it's close by, there's no need to travel. I've been to the best hospitals, and it's no different. The infusion centers are the same."
