Volunteer Spotlight: Gloria Dempsey

Gloria Dempsey is a valued member of the Oaklawn Auxiliary, generously dedicating her time across several areas including the Information Desk, Stuffed Toys, and the Auxiliary Scholarship Committee. She has also served as a former treasurer, sharing her time and talents to support the organization in meaningful ways.

A Marshall resident, Gloria joined the Auxiliary in 2012, looking for a way to stay active and give back. After a lifetime of working with the public, she missed connecting with and caring for others. Hearing positive things about the Auxiliary, she decided to get involved and quickly found her place.

Gloria especially enjoys volunteering at the Information Desk, where she can warmly welcome visitors and assist members of the community as they enter the hospital.

She describes the Auxiliary as a great organization filled with wonderful people, all working toward a meaningful cause and her dedication reflects just that.

We are grateful for Gloria’s years of service and the kindness she brings to Oaklawn each day. Thank you, Gloria, for all that you do!

Help us welcome Amy Ball, PA-C to Oaklawn!

Amy earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Freed-Hardeman University.

With nearly two decades of experience in gastroenterology and hepatology, Amy has cared for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has extensive experience managing conditions such as Hepatitis C and inflammatory bowel disease.

Amy is known for her compassionate, patient-centered approach, emphasizing active listening, thorough assessment, and collaboration with fellow physicians to provide comprehensive care.

Amy will be practicing at Oaklawn’s Gastroenterology clinic, supporting patients with expert, personalized digestive health care.
