👏Congratulations to Andrea Nettnin, the first-ever recipient of the Jeff Cseplo Award at Unity Hospital!

Andrea was unanimously selected by her peers for this award, which recognizes members of the Social Work team at Unity who go above and beyond in professional excellence, community impact, collaboration, innovation, and compassion.

In a true reflection of her selflessness and commitment to community, Andrea chose to donate her award funds to Heritage Christian Services, an organization close to her heart.🥰🥹

The Jeff Cseplo Award was created in honor of Jeff Cseplo, who retired in 2024 after 37 years of service at Unity Hospital. Jeff left a legacy of unwavering advocacy, empathy, and dedication - qualities that shaped the lives of countless patients, families, and colleagues. From mentoring medical professionals to offering comfort in the most critical moments, Jeff set a standard that continues to inspire us all.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of Michael Groff, MD, Executive Medical Director of Neurosciences at Rochester Regional Health. Dr. Groff lost his life in a plane crash on Saturday, April 12, in Columbia County, New York.

Dr. Groff was more than a physician - he was a visionary leader, a gifted neurosurgeon, a dedicated mentor, and a compassionate human being whose impact reached far beyond the operating room. In his time with us, he brought a bold vision to expand access to world-class neurological care, and he led that work with remarkable humility, integrity, and heart.

Though his time at Rochester Regional was far too short, the legacy he leaves behind is lasting. His contributions to neurosurgery, through education, research, and innovation, have touched the lives of countless patients and inspired the next generation of surgeons around the world.

We extend our deepest condolences to Dr. Groff’s family, friends, patients, and to the many colleagues who had the privilege of working with him.

For our RRH team members who may be struggling with this loss, assistance is available through our Employee Assistance Program and our Spiritual Care team.

We are grateful for the time we had with Dr. Groff. His presence, leadership, and passion for his work made a difference. He will be deeply missed, and never forgotten.

👏 Congratulations to Unity Hospital ICU team member, Nan Stell, RN, for her recent recognition from the Greater Rochester Area Finger Lakes Chapter - AACN!

Nan received the Liz Hulmes Longevity at the Bedside Award, which is given to critical care nurses who have remained at the bedside while providing exceptional care, and are committed to their own professional development as well as their peers' as a preceptor, charge nurse, and mentor.

In honor of Black History Month, we hosted a special art pop-up in the Unity Hospital lobby last week.

Featuring works from local artists of the Rochester Black Arts Council, including Alicia Astacio, LUJAR, Mhekka Ramadan, Will Robinson, and Dominique Simmonds, the display showcased a stunning collection of pieces celebrating Black Excellence through culture, history, and creativity.

Visitors had the opportunity to experience powerful visual storytelling, highlighting the talent and perspectives of local Black artists.

Thank you to the Rochester Black Arts Council and all who stopped by to appreciate and support this meaningful exhibit!
