The 26th Annual Lafayette Peach Festival by the numbers!

This year marked the first time Good Samaritan Hospital served as presenting sponsor, and it was a sweet success:

Meet Serena Ascough and baby James, pictured here with Erica McClannahan, RN, our lactation specialist at Good Samaritan Hospital. After such a positive experience with our Women’s Services/Mom & Baby team, Serena’s monthly breast milk donation feels like coming “full circle.”

“This is just a true testament to the support and lactation services that have helped to make this possible for me,” Serena shares.

We’re honored to support families like Serena’s and the incredible journey of giving back.

From dirt roads in small-town Erie to the busy halls of Good Samaritan Hospital, Barb Williams’ life has been filled with connection, care, and community.

Born in Denver, Barb moved to Erie in the 9th grade when the town had just 200 residents. After raising two daughters (and later welcoming four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren), she spent 30 years in banking and 15 years at IBM before turning her talents toward giving back.

Since 2005, she’s been a steady, compassionate presence here—greeting patients with warmth, transporting them after surgery, and never letting them leave without a seatbelt and a smile. Barb walks miles each day, crochets thoughtful gifts, sings in her church choir, and still volunteers with Meals on Wheels.

Her kindness lingers long after she’s left the room, and we are so grateful to have her as part of our Good Samaritan family. ❤️

🧸💙 A small comfort can make a big difference.

Caregivers from Intermountain Health—including our team at Good Samaritan Hospital—recently assembled 75 handmade care kits for children in Westminster facing trauma.

Each kit includes a stuffed animal, a birth certificate, and a handwritten note with words like: "You are strong. You are brave. You are loved."

These kits were delivered to the Westminster Police Department and will be shared with children experiencing crisis—giving them something tangible to hold onto in moments when they need it most.

Thank you to all 80+ Intermountain caregivers who brought heart, compassion, and creativity to this project. This is what community looks like. 💛
