Today, we kicked off our first ever Youth Fellowship Program!

This week, we’re joined by six amazing high school students from Glen Allen High School, The New Community School, Trinity Episcopal School, St. Catherine’s School, and Seaford High School (NY). They’ll spend the week engaged in hands-on service, real-world learning, and leadership development.

We’re thrilled to have them with us at UMFS!

Ten years in group homes… until family made it possible for Adame to finally come home.

Faith Spencer’s journey to bring her grandson Adame home shows the power of family connection. With support from UMFS, what once seemed impossible became a reality — Adame is now thriving with the people who love him most.

Thanks to $300,000 in new funding, UMFS is expanding our kinship family finding efforts to help more youth like Adame connect with relatives and trusted adults. Every child deserves a safe, loving home with family whenever possible — and together, we’re making that happen.

The Child and Family Healing Center Summer Commencement Ceremony was overflowing with support as we celebrated two remarkable youth who completed the program. The celebration opened with a powerful message from T. Murphy of VA Project LIFE that truly resonated with everyone in the room.

Awards were presented to staff for their dedication, families shared heartfelt words of gratitude, and our two commencers shined as we honored their resilience and hard work.

Moments like this remind us what’s possible when youth, families, and staff walk this journey together — step by step, side by side!

For the sixth year in a row, this incredible organization has provided quality backpacks filled with all of the supplies our Charterhouse School students need to start the school year right!

Thank you, Backpack Buddies for supporting our students in Richmond and Edinburg. We are so grateful for you!

Do you know a teen who has the passion to be a changemaker in their community?

On August 11, we're kicking off our Youth Fellowship Program — a weeklong leadership experience designed to inspire high school students to lead with purpose.

Through hands-on service, real-world learning, and meaningful reflection, participants will build the skills and confidence to create positive change in their communities.

This past Saturday, seniors from the Trinity Episcopal School Football team rolled up their sleeves and got to work!

They cleaned out the Walker House basement and attic, hauled everything to the dumpster, and assembled 16 chairs for the Generosity Collective conference room in Building 19/20.

Huge thanks to Head Coach Sam Mickens for being there and a special shoutout to Team Mom Jennifer Rosen for reaching out and making it all happen!

We’re grateful for your support and good luck this season!
