This Sunday September 7th is National Grandparents Day, a time to celebrate the love, wisdom, traditions and joy that grandparents bring into our lives. ❤️

Assistance Home Care was founded in 2011 in honor of our co-founder Sally’s mother, Gearldean, who was lost to Alzheimer’s disease. Gearldean was a proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren, and her legacy inspires us each and every day as we support family caregivers and their aging loved ones with professional & reliable in-home care services.

We're proud to celebrate not only the grandparents we serve, but also the grandparents within our own Team and those held close in our hearts. ❤️

Yesterday, our Team welcomed Bristol Hospice of St. Louis for a demo of their Bright Moments program. This innovative, research-based approach provides patients and families with tools that bring comfort, connection, and joy during some of life’s most challenging times. ☀️💚

We are proud to now feature the Bright Moments Kit in our local Training Home in Rock Hill, available to Care Pros, families, and professionals seeking hands-on education and best practices to support aging loved ones at home. From music therapy and sensory engagement to weighted comfort items and adaptive utensils, the kit provides meaningful ways to enhance quality of life and create more “bright moments” together. 🫶

After 114,385 miles, we said goodbye to the little car that helped start it all at Assistance Home Care, a Nissan Cube! ❤️

Purchased back in 2011, shortly after opening our doors, “the Cube” helped our AHC Mission grow all across St. Louis and St. Charles. Over the last 14 years, it supported our Office Team with visiting our Clients for Quality Assurance Home Visits, helped transport medical equipment, and even picked up Care Pros in inclement weather to ensure continuity of care for our Clients & their Families. In 2013, another Cube joined our Team and is still on the road today!

Cars hold memories, and this one holds so many for us. That’s why we were so proud to donate it to Kars4Kids, to give it a second life supporting children's education programs!

The Cube may be retired, but its legacy lives on through the countless families it helped us support. Here’s to the memories, the miles, and the Mission that keeps driving us forward. ✨

On Monday, we had the joy of gifting their Team a dementia-friendly companion puppy. With its soft fur, gentle tail wags, and cheerful barks, it was love at first bark! ❤️ The Team at MCHS is excited to share the pup with visiting families as a comforting, therapeutic option for loved ones living with dementia.
