Tim Heiser aka "Scrapper" founded Scrapper's Rescue (formerly Elkhart's Furry Friends) back in 2009 along with a group of friends who rescued animals and helped local Veterans and Disabled. When Scrapper passed away in 2014, his mother Patricia Heiser, founded Scrapper's Rescue and Guardian Angels a non-profit public charity in honor of her son. Scrapper's to this day continues rescuing animals an

d those with the right temperament become service dogs for Veterans and the Disabled while educating the public of the benefits, needs and costs of service dogs.
