Our Good Medicine Series has come to a close, and we’re so grateful to everyone who joined us from December through July! Each Thursday, community members came together to engage in traditional Native arts—like ribbon skirts, medicine bags, salves, sweatlodges, and more.

These cultural practices created more than just art—they fostered emotional and spiritual healing, intergenerational knowledge sharing, and a deeper sense of belonging. Youth gained valuable skills, confidence, and a stronger connection to their identity and heritage.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped carry this vision forward. Together, we created a safe and sacred space for cultural revitalization, peer support, and community healing. ❤️

As we close out National Health Center Week, today we look toward the future. It’s Future Vision Day—and our vision is rooted in tradition and driven by innovation. We believe every step we take today should uplift the next seven generations. Whether it’s expanding access to culturally rooted care, investing in youth programs, or building new spaces for wellness and healing, we are laying the foundation for a healthier, stronger future. 🎥 Watch how we’re imagining—and building—a world where the next seven generations not only survive, but thrive.

to when our amazing intern Aiyanna Rawson visited our School-Based Health Centers to ask: "What’s your favorite part about National Health Center Week?" 💬

From creating safe spaces for youth to offering care that meets students where they are, our team shared powerful reflections on what makes this week—and our work—so meaningful. Our School-Based Health Centers are more than just clinics. They’re trusted spaces where students can access medical, dental, behavioral health, and wellness services—right on campus.

Building on our commitment to community-centered care, today’s National Health Center Week theme is Health Equity Day. We believe health is more than a check-up—it’s whole-person care that honors the physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural well-being of our communities. That’s why when someone comes in for a medical visit, they often leave with additional support from behavioral health, dental care, community wellness, housing navigation, nutrition, and more. This is what wraparound care looks like. This is how we walk alongside our members—every step of the way.

As we continue celebrating National Health Center Week, today’s focus is on Medicaid Appreciation Day. Medi-Cal plays a vital role in the lives of over 80 million people nationwide—including children, elders, people with disabilities, and low-income families. At Native American Health Center, many of our patients depend on Medi-Cal to access care that is not only essential but also rooted in culture, respect, and community.

Community health centers like NAHC serve 1 in 11 Americans, regardless of insurance, income, or immigration status. But without strong, continued funding for Medi-Cal, our most underserved communities would face widening health disparities, overwhelmed ERs, and rising costs across the system. This isn’t just policy—it’s personal. Protect Medi-Cal. Protect our patients. Protect community care.

At Native American Health Center, we’re grateful every day to serve our members. Your stories, journeys, and commitment to wellness and community inspire everything we do. Today, we honor you. Thank you for allowing us to walk alongside you in care and healing.
