Today in Bridgeport, we are mourning the passing of Carolyn Vermont- a dedicated and passionate community leader!

Carolyn Vermont was woven into the very heartbeat of the Bridgeport community. She did not lead from a distance. She showed up. She listened. She called. She followed through. She modeled what servant leadership truly means. She understood that housing, safety, youth development, and civic engagement are not separate causes — they are all pillars of a thriving community.

Personally, I will remember her steady presence and her unwavering clarity of purpose. She reminded us that systems change is possible when love for community drives the work. On behalf of Bridgeport Prospers and in this moment of sorrow, I offer our deepest sympathy to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with her!

Carolyn helped lay the foundation for a more just and connected community.
And in her honor, we will keep building upon that foundation — together.
