Tuesday and Wednesday this week, we will be trying out a tip from our colleagues across the country by closing our doors for a couple of days to get our inventory in order. Please be patient with us. We'll be sure to prioritize getting back to you as soon as we get up and running towards the end of the week.
Thank you!

We're unpacking assistive technology device kits from Inclusive TLC. They are full of accessibility tools for things like computers, communication devices, and video games. So Cool! And our trainer says we're among the first places in the country to receive the kits.
Give us a day or two to figure it all out, but after that, stop by one of our Demonstration Centers and try these amazing tools out! We only have these devices for a short time - but if you love them, maybe we'll get some in permanently.

Everything's better when we're doing it with others!

This AT Awareness Day has been a wonderful collaboration with so many partners - and while most of our open house events start at 4 p.m. today - two of our partners with the Alzheimer's Association Minnesota-North Dakota are displaying assistive technology at a health fair in Langdon between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. today. AT truly is for everyone.

Thank you, Beth and Julie!!

Today, on state and federally recognized AT Awareness Day, we're celebrating two people who have dedicated their valuable time and energy to promote, advocate for, teach about, utilize, and/or build capacity around the use of assistive technology. If you know either of them (heck, even if you don't), drop them a note and help them celebrate this much deserved recognition.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE AT CHAMPIONS!

Leading up to AT Awareness Day on April 30, we're sharing more awesome technology ideas. This post highlights smart home controls and devices. They're easier to set up than you think, and even if they're a convenience now, they can become necessities down the line.

As we build momentum for AT Awareness Day on April 30, our partners across the country are promoting AT using the hashtag - Today's highlight is an ergonomic mouse. They come in so many shapes, sizes, and styles! If you feel any discomfort using a traditional mouse, there are abundant AT options. Some of which you can try out at our demonstration centers.

About ND Assistive

North Dakota Assistive (formerly IPAT) is a non-profit organization that strives to bring assistive technology devices and services into the lives of North Dakotans and Minnesotans of all ages who need it. Our goal is to help bridge the gap between ability and disability using assistive technology.

We are constantly following advances in the field of assistive technology so that we have the expertise to consistently provide comprehensive, quality services. The services that we provide can cover a broad range of needs. This includes assistance in the classroom, the community, and at work, as well as, technology to allow those experiencing the effects of aging to safely remain living in their own homes. Providing funding and distribution programs is another integral segment of our organization. We feel that all people should be given the opportunity to learn about, try, and afford assistive technology devices.

Our Background

North Dakota Assistive is a non-profit organization that was designated by the former Governor Ed Schafer as the implementing entity for the Statewide Assistive Technology Act Program in 1993. In addition, ND Assistive is the implementing agency for several other state and federal contracts as described on this site.
