We are a pediatric dental office specializing in the preventative treatment of infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special needs.

Located in San Francisco’s Sunset District, we are a pediatric dental specialty practice that serves families from all over the San Francisco Bay Area. As a board-certified pediatric dentist, Dr. James Han manages a wide scope of treatment needs ranging from infant oral exams and regular preventative checkups to pediatric dental trauma and full-mouth treatment. At Han Pediatric Dentistry, your child will receive care in a safe, spacious, and state-of-the-art office in a convenient location for families looking to find their child’s dental home. At Han Pediatric Dentistry, emergency services are available (after-hours and weekends too) to address any symptoms your child may be experiencing such as pain or swelling as a result of tooth decay or dental trauma. In addition, Dr. Han maintains hospital privileges at Sutter California Pacific Medical Center where he sees consultations in the pediatric emergency department and performs dental cases in the operating room when needed. Humans have 20 baby teeth and 32 permanent teeth. On average, the child's first baby tooth sheds around age six, with a wide "normal" spread of +/- 12 to 18 months. This can be a very exciting time for the child, as there will be many first time Tooth Fairy stories heard from their peers during Kindergarten and 1st grade.

Sometimes, there are exceptional cases of a child's oral development that deserve their own story. Patient CJ watched as his classmates (and even his own younger sibling) all started losing their baby teeth from Kindergarten to 4th grade, while all of his 20 baby teeth remained rock solid. He waited VERY patiently until his first baby tooth FINALLY fell out at age 10 YEARS and 6 DAYS!!! As a reward for his patience, CJ's new teeth are more likely to last forever, while keeping them sparkly clean and eating a healthy diet. As Dr. Han frequently says, "the later the new teeth show up, the later their wear and tear will start"!!!

In honor of CJ's story and his exceptional patience, we applied to to recognize him as the "Oldest Child to Have All 20 Baby Teeth," but they unfortunately did not follow-through to prove our claim. Worry not, young CJ, because you have set a Han Pediatric Dentistry that will probably never be broken!!!
