As July comes to a close, take a moment to pause and ask yourself:

What am I proud of for simply getting through this month?
It might be something small. It might be something no one else saw.
But you know—and that’s enough.

Grief doesn’t always show up in grand gestures. Sometimes, it looks like continuing. Breathing. Choosing hope in the middle of uncertainty.

Whatever August brings, carry this with you: You’ve made it through every day so far. That’s strength.

Let’s try something a little different to begin the week:

Finish this sentence:
“If I could talk to them today, I would say…”

You don’t have to share it here (though you're welcome to).
You can write it in a notebook, whisper it into the quiet, or simply carry it with you.

Grief often holds unsaid words. Giving them somewhere to land—even briefly—can be its own kind of comfort.

Weekends can bring a little more stillness—and sometimes, a little more longing.

If you’re missing someone this weekend, consider creating a small ritual to honor their memory:

🌼 Light a candle and say their name
🎶 Play a song they loved
✍️ Write them a letter, even if just a few words
🌳 Take a walk in a place that feels close to them
🥧 Cook a meal that reminds you of time shared

Remembrance doesn’t have to be big or formal. It can be quiet, simple, and deeply personal.

💛 However you choose to remember, their love still lives through you.

Sometimes in the middle of the week—and the middle of grief—we need a small reminder that we're still here, still moving, still holding on.

So here’s yours:
You’ve made it to today.
Not because it’s easy, but because you keep showing up—with love, with memories, and with strength you might not even recognize in yourself.

💬 If someone’s been on your heart today, feel free to share their name in the comments. We’ll say it with you.

Grief can make it hard to focus, remember things, or stay organized. That’s not a flaw—it’s how your brain protects you when your heart is hurting.

If you’re feeling scattered, try this simple tool:

📝 The 3-Task List

Write down just three things you’d like to do today.

Choose one that’s necessary, one that’s meaningful, and one that’s just for you.

If you only finish one, that’s still forward motion.

Grief doesn’t ask for perfection. It asks for presence—and small, steady steps.

You may have heard that grief comes in “stages”—but the truth is, it rarely moves in a straight line.

Grief is not a checklist.
There’s no timeline. No right way. No finish line.

You may feel anger one day, peace the next, and heartbreak all over again the day after that. That’s not failure—that’s being human.

Grief is as unique as the love we carry.
However it shows up for you… it's okay.

As the week winds down, we know that for many, grief doesn’t take a break on the weekend.

You might be feeling the quiet, the absence, the longing.
Or you might be remembering someone with love, laughter, or tears that show up out of nowhere.

However grief is showing up for you today, may you give yourself permission to rest, reflect, and take things one gentle moment at a time.

You've made it through another week. That matters.

Not all grief is openly acknowledged—and that can make it even harder to carry.

Disenfranchised grief is the kind of sorrow that doesn’t get recognized or validated by others. It might come from a loss that people don’t understand, don’t see, or don’t feel “counts.”

Examples include:
💔 The loss of an ex-partner
🐾 A beloved pet’s passing
🤍 A miscarriage or stillbirth
💬 A friendship that quietly ended
🕊️ Grieving someone others say “you barely knew”

If your grief has ever been dismissed, minimized, or ignored—please know this:
Your loss is real. Your grief is valid. Your healing matters.

You don’t need permission to mourn.

Grief doesn’t follow a season—but summer can bring its own challenges. The longer days, the empty chairs at barbecues, the quiet ache of memories tied to warm weather traditions.

Here are a few gentle reminders that may help ease the weight:

🌞 Make space for your feelings. It’s okay if joy and sadness exist side by side.
🌳 Create a small ritual. Light a candle, take a walk, or listen to a song that reminds you of them.
💬 Talk about your loved one. Sharing stories can bring connection and comfort.
📵 Give yourself breaks. Step away from social media or overwhelming news when needed.
🤝 Reach out for support. You’re not a burden. You are human—and loved.

Your grief matters. Your healing matters. And you don’t have to go through it alone.
