People often get emotional when I say itâs either ignorant or stupid to take GLP-1 drugs. Let me explain what I mean by that.
The word ignorant simply means unaware. Most people are unaware of what these weight-loss drugs actually do in the body. Iâve never met one person who could clearly explain how these drugs work, yet they take them. I truly believe that if people knew what I know about these drugs, many would never use them, unless something deeper is going on mentally or emotionally.
Now, donât get upset with me if youâre currently taking one of these drugs and didnât know this. That just means youâre ignorant about it, not stupid.
The word stupid tends to sound like an insult, but thatâs not my intent. When I say stupid, Iâm referring to someone who chooses to remain uninformed, someone who knows thereâs more to learn but refuses to look deeper. If thatâs you, and you knowingly ignore the facts, then yes, your actions are stupid.
Most people who take GLP-1 drugs arenât stupid, theyâre simply unaware. Thatâs why Iâve written multiple articles on GLP-1s: to inform, not to insult. Once youâre informed, the choice is yours, but if you continue using these drugs despite knowing the risks, then the decision becomes stupid, not the person.
Why? Because when itâs all said and done:
â
Most will regain the lost weight.
â
Most will harm their bodies through loss of skeletal muscle.
â
And most will face an increased risk of all-cause mortality.
These arenât my opinions, theyâre conclusions supported by multiple ongoing studies.
If you want to truly understand how GLP-1 drugs work, read this short article I wrote:
Discover the truth about GLP-1 weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy. Learn how they mimic starvation, cause muscle loss, and increase health risksâincluding a 300% rise in heart attacks. This must-read article explains the science and offers safer alternatives.
