Join Careteam Plus for World AIDS Day 2025 Reflection on Monday, December 1st at 6pm. The event will start with a FREE showing of the movie “Philadelphia” at Theatre of the Republic followed by a Candlelight Walk & Vigil at the Conway Riverwalk in observance of World AIDS Day. We will be handing out roses at the Theatre of the Republic before the Candlelight Walk & Vigil. After the walk, our Mayor will give a City Proclamation followed by a moment of silence and dropping of roses in the river. This will be a day for reflection and remembrance.

We invite you to share the name of someone you hold dear who has been touched by HIV/AIDS, someone whose light still shines in your heart. Please email their name to careteam@careteamplus.org and we will include them in our special remembrance at our event on December 1st.

This is a FREE event so please come join us! ❤️

The prevention team is acknowledging Family Caregivers and Native American Heritage—two communities whose strength and traditions remind us that prevention begins at home, in families, and within generations.
When one person reaches out to support another, they are helping reduce the risks that can lead to substance misuse, isolation, or despair.
Native American communities have long shown how stories, connection, and shared responsibility form powerful protective factors.
If you or someone you love needs resources, we are here to listen, guide, and support. Prevention is possible because of people like you.

Trick or Treat on Front Street | Friday, October 31 | 5–7 PM 🎃
The Georgetown County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission is proud to support this year’s Trick or Treat on Front Street — a safe and fun evening for children 12 and under.
Our Prevention Specialist will be there sharing candy and family-friendly prevention materials. Each smile, each moment of care, and each positive conversation helps build a stronger, healthier Georgetown.
Addiction continues to challenge our community, but prevention begins with compassion — and compassion begins early. Together, we can make a lasting difference for the next generation.
Stop by, say hello, and remember — Prevention is Caring.
