🚨 TONIGHT at 8:30 PM EST
Do you constantly second-guess yourself? Feel like no matter how hard you try, nothing changes? Or struggle to take action because deep down you believe, “What’s the point?”

That’s not laziness. That’s learned helplessness, and it often begins in dysfunctional families, where your voice, needs, or efforts were ignored, minimized, or punished.

In this Compassionate Weekly Accountability Meeting, I will guide you through a powerful conversation about:

What learned helplessness actually is
How childhood emotional neglect and dysfunction wires you to give up too soon
Real-life signs that you’ve internalized powerlessness
Everyday trauma-informed strategies to reclaim your agency, voice, and confidence

Whether you're struggling with procrastination, self-doubt, emotional burnout, or people-pleasing, this live session will give you insightful, actionable, and compassionate tools to start healing the root of your stuckness.

💙 Come join the conversation and let’s unlearn helplessness, together.

It’s been an honor to spend the past month training the NYC Commission on Human Rights’ Law Enforcement Bureau on some of the most important topics impacting our well-being and workplace culture: Stress Management, Vicarious Trauma, Emotional Intelligence, Emotionally Intelligent Conflict Resolution, and Team Building.

We wrapped up the series with a powerful session on Team Building and Change Management for managers; a crucial conversation for leaders navigating change while supporting their teams.

I deeply commend the Commission’s commitment to prioritizing emotional well-being, communication, and team cohesion. These skills are essential to a sustainable, healthy, and effective workplace.

As a former colleague, it’s always meaningful to return and support the mission in a different capacity.

On May 29th, something sacred happened. We gathered at for the premiere of Growing Up Too Soon, and what unfolded was magical. The screening of my trauma and healing story, collective healing, reclaiming, and homecoming.

These pictures capture just a glimpse of the energy in that room; of the stories shared, the emotions released, and the truth we no longer have to carry alone. I feel deeply grateful and honored for everyone's support and vulnerability.

“I finally felt seen.” “I didn’t know how much I was still carrying until this short put words to it.” “I wish my younger self could’ve heard this.” "Wow, you and I have a similar story". "You have helped me so much, but I didn't know you had experienced that, I feel even more seen".

These are just a few of the reflections shared by brave audience members after watching Growing Up Too Soon: Healing Parentification and Complex Trauma

I want to take another opportunity to highlight and thank everyone, who made this possible, especially our amazing partners and organizations:

Special shout-out to our talented and beautiful artists

And our wonderful photo journalist

Stay tuned for the Spanish version of the event.
The journey doesn’t end with one screening. Growing Up Too Soon is the beginning of something bigger and your support showed me that these conversations are needed.

More storytelling. More healing spaces. More tools to break the silence and come home to ourselves. If you’re new here, welcome. And if you’ve been walking this path with me, you know what we’re building together. 💙

Many of us weren’t protected or parented property regardless of whether the circumstances were justified.
We weren’t believed. We were praised for being “so mature,” when really, we were surviving.

If you had to grow up too soon…
If you’ve carried your worth in your achievements, your silence, or your ability to keep it all together, this is for you.

Let's talk about it below.👇🏽

🧠In Commemoration of Mental Health Awareness Month:

Join us for a heartfelt evening of reflection, connection, and healing.

In collaboration with the Mami Chula Social Club, The National Dominican Women's Caucus, and the Brides March: Gladys Ricart Survivors' Network against Domestic & Intimate Partner Violence.

Together, we’ll witness Growing Up Too Soon— A powerful and intimate event that tells the trauma and healing story of licensed psychotherapist and coach, Karina Aybar-Jacobs, LCSW, CPC, founder of the Self-Worth Hub®(www.karinaaybar.com)

Growing Up Too Soon offers a raw and relatable look at how early roles manifest later in life through anxious and avoidant attachment, people-pleasing, overgiving, and hyper-independence.

Growing Up Too Soon is a story of reclamation—of what healing can look like when we begin to untangle from generational patterns, confront the wounds we’ve carried for too long, and learn to come home to ourselves.

If you’ve ever felt like you were asked to grow up before you were ready, this story is for you.

** This gathering is for any woman who was asked to be “the strong one” far too early. Through story-telling, guided reflection, and community support, we’ll begin to explore how to gently lay down those roles and reconnect with the parts of ourselves that were left behind.
