Coming up at 1pm, after the Lunch Plenary!

During this session, we will focus on the lives of immigrants, people living with HIV, Trans and Black communities who are taxpayers but are systematically left out of federal, state, and local relief and aid during the COVID-19 pandemic and disasters. that often impact the health status of our communities. Being in the Southeast, we also experiment with policies that harm the daily lives of those most impacted and affected by HIV such as homelessness, lack of resources, and stigma.

This session will be conducted in Spanish with interpretation available in English.

Today is National HIV Testing Day, and the theme for 2020 is “Knowing” — knowing your status and knowing your options.

Due to COVID-19, getting tested for HIV is not as accessible as it used to be, but there are safe and innovative options available, such as FDA approved self-test kits.

Check out this blog to learn more about the struggles of HIV testing during COVID-19 and how you can get tested now.

Larry Kramer, the noted writer whose raucous, antagonistic campaign for an all-out response to the AIDS crisis helped shift national health policy in the 1980s and ’90s, died on this morning in Manhattan. He was 84.

He sought to shock the country into dealing with AIDS as a public-health emergency and foresaw that it could kill millions regardless of sexual orientation.
