Create Nourish Move Yoga, Ayurveda, Integrative Nutrition, Creative Inspiration Haily Cryan, RYT200, strives to inspire creativity through her teachings.

As an artist who earned her BFA from University of Hartford, she believes that teaching and practicing yoga is a form of art. Haily creates a space for students to grow both in their physical and spiritual practice with mindfulness and compassion. Her teacher training was completed with Buffy Barfoot, Clear Compass Yoga Teacher Training, in Denver, Colorado. Haily's passion for yoga is contagious

and she is continually inspired through art, travel and time spent in nature. She is currently studying at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, in the 500 Hour Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Training Program, and is thrilled to be deepening her own practice and knowledge in order to weave it into her teachings. Haily's classes use the breath to guide students into finding their own edge, so growth and expansion happens with each experience. It is important to her to meet each student along the path of his or her personal practice and teach that it is the journey of yoga that is important, not the end goal. Haily's teachings emphasize alignment and flow, and encourage transformation on and off the mat.

Monthly live class is this Friday. I’ve been feeling the collective heaviness and seeing so many fall into default mode (I’m in and out of that a lot right now) the need to just get through the day, nothing more, survival mode. There’s a place for that and after the last two exhausting years, it very well might be now! AND you’ll know when it’s time to pick yourself up and take steps toward something better. This class is for wherever you are on the path from surviving to thriving. We’ll move through whatever’s there, give ourselves permission to be in that space of pause if that’s what’s needed and look for signs we’re ready for more energy and inspiration.

Okayyy, who else experiences a very FULL range of emotions throughout the day? 🙋🏽‍♀️😅

I used to get really down on myself about feeling the most because it can be…extra.

AND now I know that as a (hyper) sensitive person, I *get to* experience things more fully. This can be hard but I wouldn’t change it.

Sure, there are ways to rein it in and experience your feelings more skillfully (yoga, meditation, talking with a friend, therapy, time in nature - all great things) but whatever ways you choose to level things out, make sure they let you keep the essence of what’s there.

Rasa, in sanskrit, means taste, essence, flavor, experience, emotion or juice. It’s what’s pulsing through the heart of what’s there, and I for one, don’t want to lose that, do you?

While we sometimes have to taste flavors that are…less delicious…this reminds us to squeeze every last drop of juice out of the sweet ones.

Deepening your relationship with rasa can reveal your unique strengths, your growing edges and your needs so that you can cook up a rich and rewarding life.

If you know me personally you know that I’m pretty talkative and outgoing for an introvert (totally got most talkative for high school superlatives) That might surprise some of you because in bigger groups I get really quiet and a little bit awkward (Actually awkward AF)

Apparently the same is true for me on camera...not gonna lie, it doesn’t come naturally to me. At all. I re-recorded the beginning of the video these screenshots are from like 45 times and I’m just being honest about that here because I’m *doing my best* to share with you because I care. I know practices like yoga are needed now more than ever and I know you can find great yoga in so many places. I just want to contribute my perspective and my passion even if it’s a little bit hard and uncomfortable.

I know the nervousness means I’ve put a lot into it and that I’m excited to share. Keep your eyes peeled for an announcement March 1st 😘

We’ve had our van for two years now. As much as I cannot wait to get into our house, this little home on wheels has been good to us. It helped us find our place, let us discover, adventure and be free. This might be our last summer with her so we’ve taken extra time off to explore and visit the places we already know and love.

Summer is PITTA season. In Ayurveda, Pitta Dosha is related to fire and water. You may notice these elements outside of yourself this time of year, in nature, in others, and you may notice the qualities of these elements in your own body, experience and mind.

The qualities of Pitta are light, hot, sharp, liquid and spreading. When experiencing the right amount of fire, we often feel productive, bright, confident and organized. When there is too much Pitta the fire can cause a boil over into frustration, anger, resentment, irritability and even inflammation. In Ayurveda, like increases like and opposites create balance. We can reduce accumulated fire energy by favoring cooling and calming practices this time of year.

Pacify Pitta:

Get into water or look at water
🌊
Eat cooling foods and herbs like cucumbers, jicama, cilantro and fennel
🌊
Favorite the tastes of sweet, bitter and astringent and uses spices that are not too SPICY
🌊
Don’t over book your schedule. Think SPACE.
🌊
Put your feet in the grass or find a shady spot to lay and relax.
🌊

Remember that the doshas (unique mind body types) are not bad, they mean to support each other but they easily go out of balance. They’re “naughty” so it’s up to us to keep them in check. I want to help you to flourish in your physical practice using alignment based direction, holistic health and lots of laughter. With my background in illustration, I believe that yoga is art!
