Last week, we enjoyed an outing at the New England Aquarium. Residents, staff, volunteers, and some family members took a break from the heat and explored the various exhibits the aquarium had to offer. We're already looking forward to our next adventure!

Meet Eton!

We’re thrilled to celebrate Eton, who has been a dedicated member of the Sherrill House team for nearly 25 years! As a Prep Cook/Supervisor in the Dietary Department, Eton plays a key role in preparing delicious meals for our residents. His attention to detail is unmatched. Even when he’s off, Eton takes the time to check in and ensure the covering prep cook is following the recipes to perfection.

Eton is always punctual, dependable, and ready to lend a hand wherever needed. His love and care for the residents shines through in the special meals he prepares, going above and beyond the daily menu to fulfill requests. Whether it’s a warm hello in the hallway or his famous jerk chicken at our summer cookouts, Eton’s friendly demeanor and dedication make a lasting impression.

From dietary aide to prep cook, Eton has shown exceptional growth, and we are so grateful for all he does to make our residents feel cared for. Thank you, Eton, for your hard work, passion, and commitment to excellence!

We are grateful to Samantha, our Dance Movement Therapy intern, who joined us from September 2024 through May 2025 from Lesley University. During her time at Sherrill House, she worked closely with residents, teaching them through dance and movement to enhance their emotional well-being and improve their physical health. Samantha facilitated expressive movement sessions in both one-on-one and group settings, allowing residents to relieve stress and boost their mood. Her classes also contributed to increased flexibility, balance, and coordination. This approach to physical activity plays a vital role in maintaining mobility and independence, which are essential for older adults.

Last week, Chef Dony created an authentic Haitian menu to kick off our patio BBQ season! Staff enjoyed a delicious lunch while listening to the Caribbean Vibes Steel Drum Band. Kudos to our dietary team!

We kicked off with Uncle Joey's Cannoli and Roxy's Grilled Cheese ! The AHCA theme for the week this year is, Tapestry of Life which highlights the stories behind everyone involved in the skilled nursing care journey. The AHCA created the theme to represent how everyone adds a unique thread that is woven into this vibrant tapestry from residents and families to caregivers and staff. Stay tuned for more highlights of our celebration this week!
