UNC Health Southeastern offers its sincerest condolences to the family and work family of Dr. Joseph Bell. He was a senior partner of Children’s Health of Carolina and was affiliated with UNC Health Southeastern for over 25 years.
“I grew up with Dr. Bell in Pembroke and we followed a similar path with our education, including medical school at UNC and residency training at Moses Cone in Greensboro,” said UNC Health Southeastern VP & Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joseph Roberts. “We served our Indian Health Service commitment together in Oklahoma. There is no finer man, friend or physician that I can think of. He epitomized the passion and commitment that all physicians should strive for. He was an outstanding father and husband as well as a mentor to countless healthcare professionals across the state. His life and career should be celebrated by all.”
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our cherished colleague and partner, Dr. Joseph Bell, cornerstone of our Children’s Health family.
Dr. Bell was more than a partner - He was a passionate advocate for children's health, a dedicated healer, and a constant source of compassion and strength. Through years of tireless service, Dr. Bell touched countless lives, providing not only medical care but also comfort, hope, and joy to families across our community.
The legacy he leaves behind is one of kindness, integrity, and unwavering dedication to the mission of pediatric care. Though our hearts are heavy, we are uplifted by the memories we share and the impact Dr. Bell had on all of us.
On behalf of our Children’s Health family, we extend our deepest condolences to Dr. Bell’s loved ones, patients, and all who were blessed to know him. May we continue to honor his life through the work we do and the children we serve.
On behalf of the partners, we honor and celebrate Dr. Joseph Bell’s life and legacy with all of you.
