July is BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month. A time to center the mental health experiences, identities, and resilience of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.

At CRMHS, we know that mental health isn’t one-size-fits-all. BIPOC communities often face systemic barriers, cultural stigma, and a lack of culturally responsive care. That’s why we’re committed to providing equitable, inclusive services that honor each person's lived experience.

This month, we invite our staff and community to:

✨ Explore culturally rooted healing practices
🗣 Amplify BIPOC voices in mental health
💬 Hold space for real, healing conversations

You can also dive into these powerful resources:

– BIPOC Mental Health Toolkit (Mental Health America)
– Therapy for Black Girls / Latinx Therapy / Native Son Podcasts
– Healing in Color Directory of BIPOC Mental Health Professionals

Together, we can break down barriers and build a system where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported.

CRMHS Office Closed for Juneteenth

In observance of Juneteenth, all Columbia River Mental Health Service locations (including NorthStar) will be closed on Thursday, June 19.

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. On this day, we honor the strength, resistance, and leadership of Black Americans who fought for, and claimed, their own freedom. We recognize this day by pausing our services and reflecting on the historical and present-day struggles for equity and justice.

As we take this time, we invite our community to:
💸Support Black-owned businesses
📚 Learn about Black history and mental health equity
🎉 Attend a local Juneteenth event or celebration
🖤 Reflect on how we can all contribute to a more just and compassionate world

We are proud to stand in solidarity and remain committed to equity, healing, and community care.

We’ll resume normal business hours on Friday, June 20.
