Congratulations to our Diamond DS-11 FX+ Giveaway Winner 🪩🏆

After receiving thousands of entries from scientists around the world, we're pleased to announce that Garmen Ng from the University of Western Ontario was randomly selected as our grand prize winner!

The University of Western Ontario’s new DS-11 FX+ instrument will be used to support the Chidiac Lab’s research on G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), with a particular focus on the mechanisms by which small molecules modulate receptor activation and downstream signaling across multiple GPCR classes.

“We frequently prepare DNA plasmids and plasmid dilutions for transfection in our cell-based assays, making the DS-11 an invaluable tool for accurately quantifying our DNA samples,” said Garmen.

“My lab and I are excited and grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in the DS-11 Giveaway. Opportunities like this are rare, and winning such an advanced and versatile instrument will be valuable for our research. We are confident that the DS-11 will become an integral part of our lab and be put to good use.”

Garmen's win came from the bonus entries she earned with a special entry code provided by our excellent Canadian Distributor, FroggaBio.

It's time for a Research Spotlight 👨🏼‍🔬🐊

Dr. John Wise, head of the Wise Laboratory of Environmental and Genetic Toxicology, works with animals such as alligators to determine if they can serve as an indicator of how environmental contaminants affect human health.

The lab relies on a CellDrop FLi Automated Cell Counter to quantify lymphocytes just hours after sample collection, a procedure made possible by the small footprint of the instrument.
