Wise Wellness Wednesday: So Anxious

😵‍💫 Anxiety doesn’t always look like panic. It can present as perfectionism, procrastination, overthinking, or people-pleasing.

💡 Wellness Tip: When anxiety kicks in, shift from reaction to regulation. Try this:
• Breathe in for 4, hold for 4, out for 6
• Ground with your 5 senses, name:
5 things you see
4 things you can touch
3 things you hear
2 things you smell
1 thing you can taste
• Give your thoughts a name, not a home

🧠 Reminder: You are not your anxious thoughts. Just because you think it, doesn’t make it true.

✨ If anxiety feels like it’s rooted in past experiences or trauma, EMDR therapy can be a helpful tool for rewiring those patterns.

You’re allowed to feel it and find relief.

Building Boundaries | Wise Wellness Wednesday

Let’s be clear: boundaries aren’t about being difficult, they’re about being healthy. 🚧💪🏾 A lot of us weren’t taught to set boundaries, but instead keep the peace. But peace costs and the price of people-pleasing is usually you. 🫵🏽

Take a moment to ask yourself:
Where am I saying yes, but meaning no❓
Who drains me more than they pour? 💧
What does choosing me look like? ✨

Here’s some homework to help you build the muscle of saying what YOU need without feeling guilty, apologizing or shrinking yourself. 📝💡

The Energy Audit: Make a list of who and what leaves you feeling drained vs. restored. ⚡️🔋 Once you notice, then you can choose differently.

The Pause: Next time you’re asked for something, pause. ⏸️ Don’t rush to answer as a means to fill the silence. Weigh what they are asking for and what you’re actually able to give. ⚖️

Boundary work is wellness work. And sometimes the best thing you can say is: No. ✋🏾❤️‍🩹

Tempers & Temperatures | Wise Wellness Wednesday

Temperatures are rising and tempers are too.
The heat has a way of bringing emotions to the surface, especially irritability, impatience, and anger.

When your body is running hot, so is your nervous system.

Ask yourself:
Are you mad at them or are you overstimulated and dehydrated?

Does everyone around you have an attitude or are y’all overdue for rest, relaxation and real conversation?

Stay cool, mentally and physically.
💧 Hydrate before you react.
🌬 Step away, take a deep breath before you spiral.
⏸️ Pause and evaluate what’s going on.
☀️ Get sun, but also get space and shade.

Anger isn’t wrong, it’s a valid emotion. But unprocessed and unchecked anger can make a mess. Protect your peace. Don’t match energy, set the tone.
