We are excited to welcome our newest physician to The Children’s Clinic tomorrow, Tuesday, August 5. MaryMorgan Alford comes to us from UMC and is ready to jump right in and help take care of any of your kids. She is available to see well visits, sick visits, sports physicals and all the other things that come up. She will be a great addition to our group as we continue to strive for excellence and compassion as we care for the children you have trusted us with.

The Children’s Clinic will be closed tomorrow (7/4/2025) so that all of our clinic can celebrate the holiday with their families and friends. After Hours clinic will be open this Saturday as it normally is, with phones opening at 0800 to start taking appointments. Happy 4th of July to you and your families! Physician Highlight of the Week: Dr. Adcock – Why I Chose Pediatrics

This week, we’re proud to feature Dr. Adcock and his inspiring reason for choosing pediatrics.

“I really just want to honor and serve the Lord wherever He puts me,” Dr. Adcock shares. That deep sense of purpose, combined with his awe for the human body—how it develops, grows, and functions—drew him to medicine.

Pediatrics stood out to Dr. Adcock as a field rich in variety and challenge. “I love that I never know exactly what I’m going to see in a day. It keeps me learning, thinking, and growing,” he says. As a pediatrician, he thrives in the role of a “jack of all trades,” managing everything from newborn concerns to adolescent health.

But for Dr. Adcock, the heart of pediatrics lies in relationships. “Walking with families from infancy through young adulthood—through good and hard times—is a privilege. I learn alongside them,” he explains.

He also values pediatrics’ strong focus on prevention and wellness. “Trying to stem the tide of chronic disease when possible is a welcome challenge,” he says. And working with kids? “It’s just fun! Most kids want to get better quickly, and their buy-in is a big plus.”

Dr. Adcock is also quick to recognize the gift of community: “Practicing with like-minded physicians and staff who love what they do lets me be part of an amazing team. I am so blessed to get to do this and be trusted by families to help.”

Physician Highlight of the Week: Dr. Mullins – Why I Chose Pediatrics

This week, we’re excited to spotlight Dr. Mullins and share his heartfelt journey into pediatrics.

“I have always enjoyed working with children,” Dr. Mullins reflects. His passion began early—volunteering every summer from sixth grade through high school with Vacation Bible School. Those formative years helped shape his calling and built a foundation of compassion and connection with kids.

Before entering medical school, Dr. Mullins spent a year working as a tech in the Pediatric Emergency Room at UMMC. That hands-on experience deepened his commitment to caring for children.

“I love that kids typically want to get better, and it’s usually not their fault that they are sick or injured. You can’t always say the same for adults,” he shares with a knowing smile.

It’s this blend of empathy, dedication, and belief in the resilience of children that makes Dr. Mullins such a valued and trusted pediatrician in our clinic.

Physician Highlight of the Week: Dr. Mandi Cook!

Step into the calm, welcoming space of Dr. Mandi Cook, and you’ll feel right at home! Her office reflects her warm personality and love for family—with framed photos of her children, meaningful art pieces, and soft, serene colors throughout.

Look around and you’ll spot some personal touches that make her space uniquely hers—from the elegant magnolia tree on top of her own mini kitchen to the cheerful sea turtle artwork watching over her desk.

Outside her office, her nurse Marianna can be found researching the greatest kid’s show of the decade, while flanked by pictures of colorful kittens! 🤣

Kidding aside….With thoughtful organization, peaceful decor, and a few fun touches for her patients, Dr. Cook’s office is a reflection of how she practices medicine—intentional, nurturing, and full of heart. We are so thankful for the care and compassion she brings to The Children’s Clinic every day!

Welcome to Hall D, the home of Dr. Tony Smith and Nurse Jody! At first glance, you might notice a bit of organized chaos—but don’t be fooled! Every paper, book, and note is exactly where Dr. Smith needs it. His office is a true reflection of the brilliant mind behind the desk.

Dr. Smith’s space is often a hub of activity, with other physicians frequently stopping by—sometimes to get his medical opinion, and sometimes just to talk about life. His wisdom and calm approach have made him a trusted mentor and friend to many.

Surrounding him are paintings of his family and his beloved dogs, adding a personal, heartfelt touch to his busy workspace. And if you listen closely, you’ll usually hear his classic radio softly playing some favorite classic rock tunes—setting the perfect laid-back, welcoming vibe.
