Tonight I did some research. Found my great grandfather's census info from 1920 in Omaha. Also found another Vacanti family in the 1920 census in Omaha. My family was up in the north side of town. The other family was on Pierce street - south O. My family was from Lentini and it looks like the other is from Carlentini - 15 minutes away.
Tonight I want to highlight the plight of many who are working with immigrant genealogy. My great grandfather was named Gaetano. During the 1940 census he is listed as Tom and in the 1930 census he was listed as Thomas. How's that for confusing?

For example - I'm from the family of Gaetano and Agata Vacanti - emmigrated in 1910 from Lentini Sicily - settling in Omaha.
