You can always expect your session to be 100% tailored to you when you come see me.

All of my sessions are ✨ integrative ✨— meaning I use a blend of different techniques depending on what your issues and goals are.

I like this approach to bodywork because it lets me create the perfect massage for you without having to stick to only technique or upselling you add-ons. ✌🏻

If you have a preference for a certain technique or really don’t want a specific technique done, your preference is definitely taken into account!

My books are open, so if you’re in Savannah GA 📍and you need range of motion work, pain relief, wellness massage, or recovery bodywork check out my bio to schedule!

I’m all about self care and taking care of your body, but that can be difficult to do if you don’t even know WHAT you need.

Have you ever been so focused on what you were doing that you forgot to eat lunch or maybe didn't realize you were even thirsty? I think most of us go through our day like this. 🙈

If this is you, take a few minutes to ask yourself these questions. It’s important to check-in with ourselves from time to time. You might be surprised by some of the answers you get back. 🤯

Resting Posture #3: Toe Sits

This posture involves hip, knee, and toe mobility. If you feel strained in this position it might be a good indicator to try it more often. The more you practice resting here the more your body will adapt.

If you feel too much pressure in your knees, try placing a pillow or yoga block under your hips.

Toes sits can be very helpful for keeping your plantar fascia healthy. If you feel too much of a pull in the bottom of your feet try rolling them out with a ball first.

Coming at you with another resting posture. Resting postures are positions that we should be able to sit in comfortably—to rest in.

If we can’t rest adequately is it fair to expect ourselves to perform and move our best outside of rest? Give this position a try, do both sides feel equal? I know I definitely have a preferred side 😅 let me know in the comments how you felt doing this!

When you hear the word “posture” it usually conjures up a specific image for most people. In my case (before I became a LMT) it was often brought up in regards to fixing my hunched over shoulders as a kid. But there’s more to “posture.” The human body has what’s called resting postures, a few postures in which we used to rest and still do in many parts of the world.

Unfortunately, a lot of us don’t spend much time in these resting postures. Instead we rest by sitting in chairs or laying down. There’s nothing wrong with these types of positions, the problem arises when we ONLY rest in these more modern/convenient positions and stop taking our body through certain ranges. The phrase “use it or lose it” rings true here as the less movement we require from our joints and soft tissues the less movement they are willing to give us over time.

Because we don’t tend to spend a lot of time in resting postures, it can feel a lot more like work instead of rest in the beginning. But the more we do it— the more time we spend taking our muscles and joints through these ranges— the healthier our bodies become and the better we get at resting.

From an athletic or wellness perspective, how can we expect to get through our day pain free or perform our best in our sports or physical activities if we can’t adequately and properly rest? Sometimes the best thing we can do is take it back to basics and start with rest.

I have a challenge for you, if you choose to accept it. I want you to practice this posture for a week. Hold it for as long and as often as you can. By the end of the week you may start to notice that it’s not as hard as it used to be and maybe it becomes a reglar habit to sit like this.

So much more! Consider...
🌀how your body feels
🌀how it moves
🌀how well it performs
🌀what it allows you to do in life..not just what it looks like.

There’s nothing wrong with working towards specific goals/outcomes. Just make sure your goals are well balanced, sustainable, and come from a place of love😉
