In 2025, WakeUp Carolina distributed more than 21,000 units of life-saving measures, this week one of those units saved a life thanks to 2 GREAT Samaritans. Here's their story, along with how easy it is for you to be trained and equipped to do the same.

TONIGHT | Community Town Hall

WakeUp Carolina is honored to partner with the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and Kennedy Center Prevention for a community town hall focused on kratom and emerging drug threats in the Lowcountry.

This conversation will offer a balanced, local perspective, including what we’re seeing in Berkeley County, lived experiences, and information families, professionals, and community leaders should be aware of. The purpose of this event is to share information and perspectives, not to promote any specific position or policy.

We’re also grateful that State Senator Brian Adams and Representative Mark Smith will be in attendance in support of this important community discussion.

🕡 6:30 PM
📍 Berkeley County Administration Building – Assembly Hall

We invite community members, families, and professionals to join us to learn, listen, and engage.

From our STWS's program director, JR Weaver--

Tonight was special. 🇺🇸🎄

Our Serving Those Who Served (STWS) veteran support meeting turned into our first-ever Christmas Eve gathering, and it couldn’t have been better.

Grateful for the chance to hang out with my vets and friends, to break bread with my people, and to share laughs, stories, and real connection. Nights like this remind me what this is all about—brotherhood, community, and not doing life alone, especially during the holidays.

If you’re a veteran reading this and feeling isolated tonight, know this: you’re not alone, we meet every Wednesday 6pm.

Veterans helping veterans. Always. 💪❤️

Whether you’re celebrating, remembering, or simply taking it one moment at a time, we’re holding space for you. ❤️

Wishing you peace, comfort, and hope today and always.
