Sarah Feaster, Child and Family Therapist Child and family therapist Children communicate through their behavior. My work with children is play based and relationship focused.

I specialize in working with young children, foster care, adoption, developmental disabilities, school challenges, trauma and parenting. I'm here to help you make sense of what your children are trying to express and teach strategies that will help them develop positive coping skills and more control over their emotions. I love discovering a child's strengths and interests and use those to inform

my treatment. I will walk alongside you during your parenting journey, with a focus on attachment and your relationship with your child. If you are pregnant or currently parenting and crave some time for yourself, this is also a safe place for you to come and work through some of the challenges that life has thrown your way. Parenting is hard, especially when you have challenging children or had a difficult childhood yourself. You don't have to go through it alone. I have over 15 years of experience working with individuals of all ages. I'm endorsed in Infant Mental Health and certified in Early Intervention. I've had extensive training in adoption, developmental disabilities, parenting and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

When a mom says, “I’m losing my mind. I need help,”
and the response is, “You got this,”
that’s not support. That’s dismissal.

She just told you she’s not okay.
She doesn’t need a cheerleader. She needs backup.
She’s exhausted, touched out, overwhelmed, and still doing it all.

Telling her she’s strong doesn’t lighten the load.
Showing up for her does.

Hold the baby, bring the food, sit with her while she cries on the kitchen floor.

Listen when she says she’s struggling.
Believe her. Help her. Don’t wait until she breaks to take it seriously.

The Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan is seeking a Special Education Teacher and a Speech Language Pathologist to join our Summer Stars program! This program offers a unique and engaging opportunity for kids with Down syndrome to continue learning, develop new skills, and build friendships throughout the summer. Through a variety of thoughtfully designed activities, including games, crafts, and outdoor play, the program helps children make progress on their IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals while integrating speech/language growth and supporting their overall development. Come have a fun summer and make a lasting impact!
