The clinics provide evaluation and intervention services for individuals with a broad range of physical, developmental, learning and/or behavioral challenges, in a family-centered and culturally-sensitive setting. An interdisciplinary team made up of many kinds of professionals work closely to meet the needs of individuals and their families. Customized team evaluations address the areas of concer

n and provide recommendations for therapies, treatment, and activities that will help each individual achieve their full potential and live a meaningful life. The clinics are part of the Civitan international Research Center whose mission is to provide education research and services on developmental disabilities. The Civitan-Sparks Clinics is an integral component of the Alabama University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). The Clinics are the home of the Maternal and Child Health Bureau's Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities training program (LEND). We provide clinical training for many disciplines such as social work, audiology, psychology, occupational and physical therapy, speech/language pathology, nutrition, nursing and others.
