Walking thoughts - for the parents š¤
I saw a video recently where a youth sports coach said they donāt really want parents right there during practice, because they want to be able to coach the kids.
A lot of times, when parents are watching, kids donāt perform the same or they keep looking over.
I see this with my own kids too.
If you know me, you know I want to be at everything, watching everything. Total hover mode.
But something thatās helped me, especially as theyāve gotten older, is taking a walk while theyāre at practice.
Iām still there. I can catch little glimpses of them.
But Iām not right on top of everything. Iām not micromanaging the process.
They get to be coached and learn what they need to learn, and I get movement, fresh air, and a little time to myself.
Win/win.
What do you do during practices?
Do you stay and watch, or use the time for yourself? Let me know.
