💔 “We just want her home.”
That’s what her husband said, holding her hand as we discussed her discharge from rehab.
She needs help with everything now—getting out of bed, bathing, using the bathroom, managing medications. These aren’t small things. They require trained, consistent care to be done safely. One person—especially someone untrained and already overwhelmed—simply can’t do it all.
I gently recommended assisted living. Not to take her away from her home, but to give her the care and dignity she needs… and to protect the man who loves her from burning out or breaking under the weight of it all.
But the family is choosing to take her home.
I pray it works out. Sometimes it does. But too often, we see heartbreak—falls, rushed 911 calls, caregiver exhaustion, hospital readmission.
We all want to honor our loved ones' wishes. But safety matters too. Support matters. You don’t have to do this alone.
👉Your love isn’t measured by doing it all—it’s measured by doing what’s best.
