Getting Back to Sports After an Injury: Progress, Not Perfection
We often see people frustrated with their progress after knee injuries or surgeries, especially when knee pain persists during running or sport-specific activities.
More often than not, the issue isn’t just pain—it’s that their bodies simply aren’t ready for those activities yet.
🔑 Our Approach: We keep it simple. We use specific criteria to guide each step and help you listen to your body. Rehab is a marathon, not a sprint—it shouldn’t be rushed.
Trying to rush back into sports often leads to setbacks, more time off, or never getting back to your previous level of function. Why? Poor progressions and poor management of your return.
Keep it simple:
➡️ Hopping leads to running
➡️ Running leads to sprinting (crucial for athleticism)
➡️ Sprinting leads to lateral and cutting drills
Rehab is about step-by-step progression, but it’s not always linear. Listen to your body and work with your PTs, coaches, and trainers to adjust accordingly. This is crucial for both your athletic future and long-term health.
