As a Family Support Worker, Chelsea steps in wherever she’s needed, always with kindness and a heart for safely reunifying families. When dedication meets heart, stability follows. 💚 From helping new teammates to advocating fiercely for the youth and foster parents we support, Kim, Family Service Coordinator, shows what true support and care looks like.

Her supervisor, Heather, shared: “Kim has been one year without a youth placement disruption, which ensures stability for the children and teens we serve in foster care. Thank you for your continued hard work and dedication to KVC. We appreciate you so much!” That’s the kind of consistency that changes lives.

They never gave up on each other. Even when life threw them some of the hardest challenges.

For several years, Amanda and her teenage daughter Jasmine (names changed to protect their privacy) worked hard to stay close and safely reunify after foster care. As they worked to reunite, Amanda experienced a major medical event which extended their journey through foster care.

But even while they were apart, their bond kept growing. Jasmine learned how to help around the house and accepted the support her mom could provide. Amanda pushed through a long recovery — mentally, physically and emotionally — to prove she could safely care for her daughter. She also leaned on her support system to make sure she was able to heal as quickly as she could.

“Amanda showed she never fails at what she does or what she wants,” said Sarah, an Intensive In-Home Specialist. “They are the true definition of a great family who never gives up on each other!"

With support from KVC, including outpatient therapy and our advocacy for them in court, Amanda and Jasmine are safely back together. 💚

She never gave up.

After the courts ruled to place her children in foster care for their safety, Melissa (name changed to protect her privacy) worked tirelessly to safely reunite her family... and today, they’re building a beautiful life together.

With help from our dedicated team, this single mom welcomed her three youngest children home and joyfully reconnected with one of her oldest children who aged out of foster care.

“She was always engaged with her children,” said Sarah, Intensive In-Home Specialist. “She made sure they had fun activities to do outside of school, supported them through thick and thin, and always made space for them to be heard. Every visit with her was full of laughter and love!”

Now sober, Melissa continues to show up every day for her kids! She takes them them to parks, cheers them on at school events, and cares deeply about their wellbeing.
