I love how easy it is to do yoga anywhere, even when traveling! 🧳 I continued the series on the elements while visiting my folks! #51 on the Water 💦 element had lots of fluid, dynamic movements. And #52 on the Earth 🌱 element was super grounding! Traveling and sleeping in a different bed can make you stiff, but yoga helps to work out the kinks! ✈️ 🛌

I started the mini-series on the Elements! #48 on the Air Element 💨 had some cool breathing techniques and hand 🤚🏻 balancing! I couldn’t do all the poses the way I used to, but that was okay! It always feels good just to be on my mat! 🧘‍♀️ #49 on the Fire 🔥 element had fiery poses that build heat in the body, like dragon 🐉, Phoenix 🐦‍🔥 and volcanic mountain. 🌋 Building heat in the body felt great on a cold morning!

I was feeling kind of crummy one night, so the next morning I got on my mat! 🧘‍♀️ I did # 47 class on the Ether element! ✨ The element classes have such rich themes-they are some of my favorites! This class faced the long edge of the mat and had loads of postures relating to outer space! 🪐 Needless to say, I felt much better after my practice than I did before I began. 🙏

Today, we arrived at a state park in Georgia. 🍑 The weather was gorgeous ☀️ and I had the energy, motivation and inclination to do yoga! 🧘‍♀️ I did #46 “Slow Your Roll” 🌀! It felt sooo good! It was a slower flow with small transitions that have big effects! It was set to a 70s playlist 🎶 which totally matched the vibe! 🍂🍁

I did #45 on Self-Love ❤️ over the course of two days! It was so peaceful on the shores of Lake Erie 🌊 , and even more peaceful when I decided to do 40 minutes one day and 30 minutes the next! One doesn’t always need a long class, and listening to my body is something I’ve been working on! 🧘‍♀️ I simply stopped after the floor/ab section, and did the last standing series and the floor/stretching cool down the next day! I think I’m going to do this more often! 👏 Obviously ease into postures as you’re warming up, but that is the beauty of yoga! You control how deep you go! 🤸🏻‍♀️

It’s been a while since I’ve posted about my practice! 📅 🧘‍♀️ #41 “Balance” was challenging in the uneven terrain of Arches National Park 🏜️ but was appropriately about getting in touch with how things feel and finding stillness within. So important as we age! #42 “Stretching Ourselves” has lots of good stretching and was very grounding. I loved 💕 this one and the music 🎶 was awesome. It contained many poses with hands behind the head. #43 “Vulnerability” was a handstand prep class. It focused on strength, mobility and alignment… with special attention to the shoulders. #44 “Uncertainty” had many surprising transitions! 🥳 Who knew side bends in cow face 🐮 pose was exactly what I needed!? I’ve also been mixing in some run/walks 🏃‍♀️ , hikes, and body weight strength exercises. 💪🏼 I don’t do something physically demanding every day. I’m beginning to find a flow with it though. Intuitive eating took time and requires awareness and adjustments over time. I feel like intuitive movement is the same! Happy to slowly be getting there! 🌈 🤸🏻‍♀️

I didn’t do as much yoga 🧘‍♀️ at my parents’ house as I planned, but I really enjoyed class #40 on Comparisons! The peak posture was mermaid 🧜‍♀️, and all the chaturangas were done on the knees in order to focus on good form and take the “shoulds” out of this part of the practice. There were lots of ecstasy arms and pigeon 🐦 poses as well! I even finally used the timer on my phone so I could be in the picture! 😂 You can find all my classes for free on www.beefreeyogaaustin.com.

🐝 🧘‍♀️ I’ve been doing more frequent yoga while I’m staying at my parents house 🏡 for a few weeks! I think I forgot to take a picture 📸 one time, so I’m just gonna share this pic of Rosie 🐕 patiently waiting for me to be done, and let you know about two classes I did on www.beefreeyogaaustin.com - Class #36 was on “Wonder” 🤩 and focused on seeing the magic in everyday moments. We practiced sensory awareness and presence. One of the peak postures was bird of paradise. I felt so much better after doing this practice! 💆‍♀️ I also did #37 on “Impermanence”. This class as so fun! It was based on the phases of the moon 🌘🌗🌔🌕🌖🌓🌒! There was just one long flow, all set to 90s music 🎶! It contained lots of great stretching and would be great for runners. 🏃‍♀️

I did #35 class on Finding Joy in Tucson, Arizona! 🌵 The beginning eases you into the practice with some simple stretches. 🧘‍♀️ The flow has you release the past with archer pose 🏹 and find joy in star ⭐️. This week I did the #33 class on Resilience! It took me a while to settle in back home after our long trip before I felt called to do yoga, but of course when I did it was exactly the right time! 🕰️ This class takes a look at the ways we are challenged and how we bounce back. 🎾 It contains lots of strap work and even has a Phoenix rising 🔥 transition which is super fun!
