A team from Regenstrief Institute and IU has published a case study on the Indiana Network for Patient Care (INPC), showing how it has expanded over three decades from a local data repository to a statewide and regional health information exchange.

The INPC now contains records for more than 20 million patients, supports real-time outbreak response, links to disease registries, and integrates directly into provider workflows. The study outlines how the INPC serves as a model for other states seeking to modernize health data infrastructure.

A partnership between IU Health and local congregations significantly reduced loneliness and emergency department visits among older adults in under-resourced communities.

The Congregational Care Network, co-led by Regenstrief Research Scientist Alexia Torke, M.D., M.S., IU Health and IU School of Medicine connects patients with trained volunteers for weekly companionship. After participation, ED visits dropped from nearly 25% to less than 17%, and outpatient care increased. https://regenstrief.in/4lMfYvt
