Join us on Monday, October 6th at 6PM for Finding Balance with Ayurveda - a 1-hour workshop + time for questions & discussion, led by Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner & Educator, Hilary Garivaltis.

✨ This is a beautiful introduction to Ayurveda, the ancient science of life. You’ll learn how your unique bioenergetic makeup shapes your health, and discover simple, practical ways to live in harmony with nature and each other.

Why Use Props?!?

Props aren’t just for “beginners.” They’re tools that help every body find better alignment, greater comfort, and deeper release. Here are a few of our favorite ways to use them:

🧘🏿‍♀️ Runner’s Lunge with Blocks
Placing blocks under your hands brings the floor closer, taking pressure off your hips and low back while keeping your spine long.

🧘🏾 Standing Forward Fold with Blocks
Blocks support you so you can fold without straining your hamstrings. They also help keep your low back from rounding.

🧘🏼‍♂️ Seated Forward Fold with Strap
Looping a strap around your feet helps you hinge from your hips rather than pulling from your spine - perfect if your hamstrings feel tight.

🧘🏻‍♀️ Reclined Hamstring Stretch with Strap
On your back, the strap lets you lengthen your leg without gripping or straining your shoulders.

🧘🏼 Heart Opener with Strap Behind the Back
If interlacing your fingers isn’t accessible, a strap gives you the same chest and shoulder stretch without forcing the range of motion.

🧘🏽‍♀️ Resting with Bolster Under Knees
A bolster under your knees eases tension in your low back - perfect for rest, relaxation, or recovery.

🧘🏾 Supported Heart Opener on Bolster
With the bolster running along your spine, your chest can gently open while your head and back are fully supported.

💚Extra Comfort Tips
🤍 Sit on a blanket, bolster, or block to lift your hips - this relieves low back compression and makes seated poses more comfortable.
🤍 Place a blanket or yoga knee pad under your knees for support during kneeling poses.

Props are here to meet you where you are. They bring the practice to your body, rather than forcing your body into the pose!

Wednesdays @ 10AM - Hatha Yoga with Jala!

🌿 What is Hatha Yoga?

“Hatha” simply means the physical practice of yoga. Moving the body through postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), and mindful awareness. It’s a slower-paced, all-levels style that focuses on building strength, balance, and flexibility while calming the mind.

Jala brings a unique background to her practice, as she has studied both yoga and qigong. Her training through the Himalayan Institute brings depth and intention to every session, helping you feel grounded, energized, and deeply connected to your body.

Perfect for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike. 💛

The Anahata Schoolhouse aims to be a community place of discovery, where we can light upon and ultimately share our gifts with the world, benefiting us all. We believe this is an exciting way to create the world we truly desire, a way that comes from the heart. And so the Anahata Schoolhouse is a school for living from the heart.

We live in times where we are called upon to tap into our inner wisdom, the wisdom of the heart, to set our direction. We can no longer act like sheep, blindly following the expectations of others and the obsolete programs from our past. For us to listen to our intuition, the quiet voice of our heart’s wisdom, we still the mind so we can hear what our heart has to say.... and yoga/meditation serves as our tool kit.
