Life update… I know it’s about time. I went MIA again.

Life happens. Things are hard right now. I just got done spending 13 days in the hospital with our almost 7 month old daughter. I gained 5 lbs in 2 weeks (despite making some decent choices in the hospital)! 🫣 To be fair, I’m sure my cortisol is through the roof from all the stress. She also came home on a feeding tube, has multiple doctors and therapist appointments each week, additional testing and procedures scheduled, and is on an every 3 hour around the clock eating schedule. My life feels out of control at times, but we know the One who is in control at all times!

Today, I’m sitting down with my coffee, computer, goal planner, and menu planner. I know THM is going to look completely different for me this time around. That alone is making me feel overwhelmed. In the past, I would whip together a smoothie and call it a meal. Today, the thought of pulling out a bunch of ingredients and dirtying the blender is more than my brain and heart can handle. So it will probably be lunch meat and veggies. That’s ok. My season is different now.

Any mamas out there who have gone through a similar season with one of your babies? What are your favorite tips and tricks?

Being transparent: I’ve not been 💯 on plan the last week, but it’s been close! I’ve also made a lot of wise choices.

Today, I made pumpkin chocolate chip bread and muffins because I know someone is bringing the “real” deal to my house tomorrow. 😉😂 I wanted to have an alternate plan! This recipe is very easy. And, Cohen loves to “cook” in the kitchen so he helped.

I’ve shared the recipe in the comments. It calls for 2 loaf pans and I usually just make 2 loaves, but I decided to make mini muffins with my second loaf since I’m going to have toddlers in my home tomorrow (there’s another pan of mini muffins cooling on the stove. It made 42 minis.) Also, it’s easier for Cohen to eat. 😊 I love having sweet treats I know he can have for a snack and not be on a sugar high! (That kid doesn’t need anymore energy! 😂🥰)

Two NSVs to report:

#1: I worked out 20 minutes last night with my husband even though I had already met my goal! (This is HUGE for me. I don’t really enjoy working out.)

#2: I didn’t really have much in the house for lunch today, and I was really tempted to eat my toddler’s leftover Mac ‘n Cheese. Instead, I made wise choices and had a great S lunch.

How many of you have heard of "Crocktober"? I decided to participate this year. Anyone want to join me? 🙋‍♀️

Here's my "menu." I just did 4 meals per week since we do a lot of leftovers. We're also working on our budget so I included one meatless meal per week. (You'll notice week 2 has an extra meal. We're having the coaches and families over that weekend.)

A couple weeks ago we were having dinner with friends, and we all decided to do a workout challenge together as teams—girls against guys.

* At least 20 minutes 3x a week
* 15 weeks (took us to Christmas)
* Team with the least amount of misses wins
* Winning team gets to choose their prize. My friend and I chose a night out for pedicures while the guys watch the kids. 🥳 The guys haven’t decided yet.

Time for a life update!

I’ve been MIA from this page for quite awhile—a lot has happened—so I’ll try to give a brief update.

#1 and disclaimer: I’m no longer a THM coach. Life changes just made it too much of a challenge at this stage for our family. Also, it wasn’t really financially beneficial for our family,

#2: We added one to our family! Samara Anne Bidwell was born June 17, 2023. Her name is Hebrew and means “protected by God.” We named her very early in the pregnancy without knowing what her story would be. We’ve already seen again and again that God definitely named her. 😊😉

#3: I’m still a THM! I’ve decided to restart this page to share my journey and for accountability. As I said, I’m no longer a certified THM coach so I won’t be offering “official” services. But, I would be happy if you would join me on my journey!

I had some health issues with this last pregnancy. And, being pregnant back to back, I gained more than I wanted. I have about 35 lbs total to lose. I’ve already lost 5 lbs.!

I would love to hear from you all! Any major life updates for you? What are your current THM/health goals?
